About

Almost four years after his first foray into unfamiliar concert territory with his highly-acclaimed Ridiculously Self-Indulgent, Ill-Advised Vanity Tour, "Weird Al" Yankovic is pressing his luck again, this time with The Unfortunate Return of the Ridiculously Self-Indulgent, Ill-Advised Vanity Tour. The tour marks Weird Al's long-anticipated return to the concert stage after his hugely successful Strings Attached Tour in 2019 where he performed each night alongside a full symphony orchestra.

Once again drawing from his back catalogue of 14 studio albums, Weird Al promises to deliver a different set list every night, with no two shows the same. As before, rather than focusing on the hits from his career, the show will feature Yankovic's non-parody material - the somewhat more obscure pastiches and original songs that have largely escaped the pop culture radar but are adored by his long-time fans. And like the last Vanity Tour, he is leaving behind the high-octane theatrics that he's known for and going bare-bones - no costumes, no props, no video screens… just Al and his band of almost four decades in smaller, more intimate venues, hanging out on stage, playing music.

"Weird Al" Yankovic is the biggest-selling comedy recording artist of all time. A five-time Grammy winner, his 2014 release Mandatory Fun was the first comedy album in history to debut at #1 on Billboard's Top 200. He is one of only five artists to have had Top 40 singles in each of the last four decades, the other four being Michael Jackson, Madonna, U2, and Kenny G. On August 27, 2018 the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce awarded Weird Al with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

    Weird Al rocks

by Amberstar on 6/18/10Sovereign Performing Arts Center - Reading

Weird Al was, as usual, amazing! He and his band are extremely talented and so much fun to watch and listen to. I was somewhat disappointed with the sound quality of the venue. The background effects and music were loud, sometimes too loud. Also Weird Al's microphone seemed to cut out during a few of the songs. The lighting could also have used some improvement. There were quite a few times during the concert that the lights blinded the audience because of their positioning.

    Classic Weird Al!

by gcassata on 6/18/10Sovereign Performing Arts Center - Reading

Absolutely amazing show! Al gave a packed Sovereign Center two and a half hours of high energy, classic music; complete with video montages, costume changes and audience participation.

WEIRD AL SHOW 6-17-10 Reading, PA

by NchantdDrmer on 6/18/10Sovereign Performing Arts Center - Reading

I was very impressed with Al's show lasting nearly 2 hours and 25 minutes. It was non stop action from the moment he walked on stage. His Al TV interviews with other Star Celebrities was enjoyable while he made costume changes. It was a great variety of musical selections as he performed songs from his new CD as well as most your all time favorites "Smells Like Narvana" including cheerleaders on stage, "Eat It", "Fat" and "Amish Paradise". He was very interactive with the crowd as he walked off stage and into the crowd even climbing on top of a few lucky fans. Would I recommend his show and would I see it again, "YES!" Summing it up in short, He's White & Nerdy, but the fans love him, He's Weird Al...

    What Talent!

by charactereduc on 6/18/10Sovereign Performing Arts Center - Reading

I had my doubts about taking my nephew to a full concert of nothing but parodies, but those doubts quickly faded in the presence of such a creative performer backed by equally skilled musicians! This show is a mix of great music, familiar parody, and keen-witted humor that has the audience laughing, singing, and cheering from start to finish. The show offers a perfect blend of full-performance classics, well-orchestrated medleys of older parodies, and plenty of new material. To keep the audience in stitches between costume changes--which are many--the show uses hilarious excerpts from classic Weird Al TV. Don't miss this show!

"Weird Al" at Minnesota State Fair Grounds

by ReddawgfromMinnesota on 5/20/10Minnesota State Fair Grounds - Dent

The show was really well attended. Fun was had by one and all. The first opening act was Tonic-Solfa. These guys really livened the crowd before "Weird Al" came to the stage. It was a good pairing. I thought it was really good how the "Weird Al" show had good length and sound quality was excellent. The event concluded with fireworks. Couldn't have been a much better Minnesota State Fair performance by someone so unique as "Weird Al" if I had to do it again, I would bring my family and friends.

I love Weird Al's humor but I was blown away by his show. Most bands can do one style well. Weird Al's band does every style imaginable well! Weird Al is multi talented and so are his musicians. Fantastic show! Well done, entertaining and funny as can be! I would suggest this show to anyone! I love ya' man! :-)
