    The Warren Miller Tradition

by jdubb77 on 11/27/19Akron Civic Theatre - Akron

Hey guys, If you are a snow lover, skier, or boarder (no matter what level) this event is a must⛷ Having been a snow skier for over 30 years now, this annual Warren Miller Film always gets me pumped for the new ski season and hitting the slopes🎿 My family bought me tickets to this years film, shown at the historic Akron Civic Theater. Just walking into the beautiful 1920-30's architecture took me back in time to some of my earliest snow skiing memories⛷ I am sure there are many theaters that are similar, but it just felt as though I was walking back in time.."you never know when that is going to happen and it's just the coolest feeling." I was first introduced to this crazy but fun Warren Miller film tradition, by a ski buddy of mine in back in 1986 in Colorado. (We worked for sporting goods company together) Chris said to me at work one day "Hey Justin, the new Warren Miller film is playing in downtown Denver tonight..." I hadn't a clue what or even who he was talking about? But I was about to find out what all these Ski bums, ski patrols, and simply put, Snow people or "Ski People" which I believe is what Warren Miller referenced this tag-team bunch? Anyways, I had a great time and you will too! if you are into beautiful mountain scenery, amazing skiers, and newby skiers alike, you will be entertained and you will definitely laugh and you might even be pursueded to try this crazy sport called snow skiing or not! I double dog you though!!! Peace out, Justin ❄️❄️❄️☃️

Film was great, pre-show event kinda lame

    by K. R. on 11/26/19McCaw Hall - Seattle

The film as of course great but the vendors at the event this year were kind of lame and uninspiring making he pre-show part of the event not as fun.

    The legacy continues

by DLUD on 11/26/19McCaw Hall - Seattle

The Warren Miller film series continuously innovates and providers the viewer with a visually and audibly stunning experience! Loved this years highlight of Chamonix, the Mustang Powder cat skiing outfit, Eldora in Colorado and the special guest Glen Plake. Jonny Moseley narrates the story well.

    Glorified advertisement

by Lindsay on 11/25/19McCaw Hall - Seattle

Was basically a two-hour promo video for all their sponsors. The original Warren Miller films are way better

I enjoyed everything but the electronic process for entering

by Michelle on 11/25/19Paramount Theatre - Denver

I have gone to the show at the Paramount for over 30 years now. The process of electronic registering while at the event was difficult. I preferred the old tangible way.

    one enormous ad

by daz on 11/25/19McCaw Hall - Seattle

We found Warren Miller's Timeless really disappointing. The 'pre-show' had a bunch of pro skiers/boarders signing posters, which is nice for the hardcore fans. The actual show itself was just one long infomercial for a series of ski resorts. A few clips of slo-mo ski/riding, then a boring chat with some rich folks talking up this great resort. Repeat, repeat. I was expecting more of the snow footage itself from someone as well known as Warren M - the capture of the raw footage is very impressive, but the editing is super cutty, short, never allows you to really follow a fun piece of action for more than a couple seconds. Felt like a fairly amateur production, would love to see what a real Holywood team could do with the same footage. And the whole thing was interrupted for a series of giveaways which was just more ads and ads and ads. Disappointing.

    Sound was terrible

by Lauren on 11/20/19Rochester Auditorium Theatre - Rochester

The sound was terrible - the MC was WAY WAY too loud - I shouldn't have to put earplugs in my ears to watch a movie - I probably won't go back - year after year it's the same thing and nothing changes - I need to save my hearing - totally sucked

    Great opening scene, then blah...

by P. H. on 11/20/19The Palace Theatre Albany - Albany

Opening of this film was great, good soundtrack and fun to see Glen Plake, but the rest was just blah. Not nearly as many sponsors handing out swag, seems like they’re starting to bail on these events. Jonny Mosley and the WM team need to step it up if they want to keep this tradition alive for the next generation.

    Beautiful well thought out film

by Jennycolorado on 11/19/19Paramount Theatre - Denver

Sticking with the classic Warren Miller films, timeless was a perfect culmination of the old and new winter sport participation!

    Too many cliche glam shots

by JF in Denver on 11/19/19Paramount Theatre - Denver

I always liked Warren Miller movies, but this one not so much. Of course there were some spectacular shots where fearless daredevils shot down some scary coulloirs. Bravo to those guys for those great rides. But 90% of the movie was, IMHO, cliche glam shots. A big turn, shot super slo mo, with big spray. You couldn't tell whether the skier put two good turns together, let alone ten. There was too much fluff and commercialism for me. Loud music and cliche slo mo turns. I want a real ski movie, not a glitzy photoshopped two hour commercial.

    Warren Miller Annual Experience

by richarddad on 11/19/19Paramount Theatre - Denver

We look forward to the next Warren Miller movie because it gets us excited for the new season. Remember, if you don't ski this year then you'll be one year older when you do.

    Comeback success

by Bfiky on 11/19/19Paramount Theatre - Denver

After last years cheesy flop the filmmakers returned to what’s important and told the story of destinations through the lense of the people skiing them not the clear bs corporate advertisement shellack that made last years feel so disingenuous. Really smart production and good music. The stoke was high and the place was rocking We can’t wait to ski!

Great way to get ready for ski season

by Susie Short Swing on 11/19/19Paramount Theatre - Denver

It is a tradition to start the ski season by going to the Warren Miller movie of the year. This one was great. The segments with Mike Wiegele and in Eldora were near and dear to my heart

Terrific experience at the Paramount Theater.

    by N. N. on 11/19/19Paramount Theatre - Denver

Emphasis was on the locations, terrain, stories, and the skiing/boarding - versus commercial elements. Love the flashbacks as well.

    Awesome video

    by J. B. on 11/19/19Paramount Theatre - Denver

Great film- started 1 hour late.... and the line to get in wrapped around the entire block. Need better entrance organization and a kid section because the kids were nuts and banging the chairs next to us

Had a great time as always

by Julia on 11/19/19Paramount Theatre - Denver

The movie was awesome as usual but we did learn to NOT go to the early show if you don't want to be surrounded by bored kids. My son had to switch seats because the 6 year old next to him would not stop moving and knocking into him. It was cool to see all the pro skiers signing posters and we got some cool SWAG. Love the audience interaction and just the overall vibes

    A lot to be desired

by Jose on 11/18/19Paramount Theatre - Denver

I guess I’ve seen too many Warren Miller movies. I’ve gone to these not only for the skiing but for the location and the men and women who skied them. Lacking on all of the above, If you can get people nowadays to bite on that good luck

    Digital entries

by Squash on 11/18/19Paramount Theatre - Denver

The digital tickets without printed receipts made it very difficult for our group to find their seats and also validate parking. Also, the scanning of the QR code to enter the drawing was very confusing and time consuming. Not a fan.
