WAR IN CONCERT:
Chicano funk icons War rolled their way to fame in the early '70s with classic hits like "Low Rider" and "Why Can't We Be Friends?", and they've kept fans dancing ever since with their groovy, socially conscious jams. The group's roster has changed over the years, but founding member Leroy "Lonnie" Jordan has remained a constant, and his familiar voice and jazzy keyboard licks continue to drive the band's fun-loving sets. The multi-ethnic lineup he's assembled stays true to the band's message of harmony and brotherhood, and their 2014 studio debut together ā the first new War album in 20 years ā proved they've got the musical chemistry to carry on the band's hallowed legacy. In concert they strike up the same funky, feel-good vibe that fueled War's rise to success in the '70s, and their party-starting blend of rubbery basslines, Latin percussion, and scorching saxophone always gets ticket buyers moving their feet.
BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:
War formed in 1969 when famed producer Jerry Goldstein brought together former Animals singer Eric Burdon and a group of Long Beach, CA funk players he discovered at a North Hollywood club. The group started performing throughout Southern California as Eric Burdon and War, and in 1970 they released their debut album Eric Burdon Declares "War." Their first single "Spill the Wine" was a Top 3 hit on Billboard's Hot 100, making them stars overnight and leading to extensive touring. War was quickly hailed as one of the best live bands in the business, but Burdon left the group to pursue other projects a year later. Despite the sudden departure of their frontman, the best was yet to come for War ā they dominated the R&B charts in the '70s with a string of No. 1 albums including The World is a Ghetto (1972), Deliver the Word (1973), and Why Can't We Be Friends (1975). The band remained a funk force to be reckoned with throughout the '80s and '90s, and in 2008 Burdon reunited with the group for the first time in 37 years for a one-off show at London's Royal Albert Hall. Since then founding member Lonnie Jordan has kept the music alive with a talented new lineup that made their studio debut on 2014's Evolutionary and continues to burn it up on tour.

As always WAR put a great show! One of my favorites bands. Canāt wait to see them again next year my yearly concert.
It was a very good night enjoyed every minute of it , have nothing bad to say at all, everyone was friendly ,good music
War put in a great Show and my seats were good. No issues getting in the show.
WAR is excellent. Have seen many times & will continue to see when I can. Every song is a hit & brings back great memories!!
We were so tickled to attend the WAR concert at the Belterra Concert Area. It's an intimate stage area where no seat is a bad seat. WAR was entertaining and kept the audience engaged. It was beautiful to see so many people singing along with the band.
War brought the heat last Saturday night, March 18th, in Florence, Indiana. Lonnie Jordan, original member and 74 years-old, had the energy of a young man less than half his age. The musicians assembled were fantastic, two percussionists, gifted lead and bass guitars, sax & harmonica throughout and Lonnie on keyboard & lead vocals. I never once felt like they "lost a step" or "couldn't hit that note". The set list brough back great memories, and we enjoyed Lonnie's accompanying stories. BRAVO!
Venue was great. Music was great. Good experience.
Great performance . Nice venue small good sound . Wish they would have played longer
WAR was awesome! What I expected and even more! Great concert and they sounded so good!
This is my 3rd war concert and if you are old school dont miss this show
Played all the hits. Lots of energy for old guys and the crowd was great.
Music good. Would have liked to have members of band identified that were in original group. Less messing around and more songs. Missed the song āWarā.
They did not disappoint. The band put on a heck of a show. They got the audience involved and kept the place rocking.
War is an exceptionally awesome group that gives you your moneys worth at their concert so cool
We arrived at the venue at 6:30 PM and weāre like 15th in line Unfortunately, it was like the amateur show getting a ticket, scanned and ready to be seated. The show started at 8 PM and we are not seated until 835. We missed almost the entire opening act aside from two songs. Our food did not arrive until 15 minutes before the show started at 8:30 My girlfriend steak was cold So I traded mine with her Venue is nice, but needs better management OK now letās go onto the show The show with simply awesome Lonnie was entertaining as he always is And every band member was totally awesome They saying every song like they say, just like the record Iāve seen them many times, and Iāve never been disappointed. The evening got off to a rough and horrible start, but the band made it better!
Lonnie Jordan is the only original member. Don't be fooled. The low rider band is the REAL War! H. Scott, L. Oskar Harold Brown! 3 to only 1.
The atmosphere at the Buffalo Bills at Prima, Nevada was spectacularly awesome! I'm a Musician I play the Bass and I really appreciated the music a little bit more than normal.. All night my Buddy Joe (R.I.P) who treated me the ticket we where having a blast because I always bump WAR so it was awesome to see them Live and everyone at that concert I'd say would agree with me. And also for the length of the concert it wasn't short they stretched it out for like 3 hour's. Greatest Ever in my Book.. Keep it up WAR and may God bless you guy's for many years to come.. Can't wait till you guy's come back to Las Vegas or the surrounding area..
I was sooo happy that they sung The World is a Ghetto. The last three times i saw them, they did not sing it. The atmosphere was great and the show was phenomenal.
First time seeing this group all my life I am 68, glad I did. It was a good show.
