Walter Beasley gave a stellar performance! His show was engaging and sexy! .....loved every moment and wanted more!
The Walter Beasley experience was off the chain. He show was amazing and I can't wait until he comes back in several months. Hats off to Walter for making it such a magical night.
Great show! - Go see Walter Beasley whenever you get the chance.
I got a Mother's Day gift to the concert for 2 people. I had never heard of him but I love jazz. I thoroughly enjoyed it and the food was super. You make excellent sweet tea. I would say it was superior
Walter Beasley and the Crew were AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I will be awaiting the next concert or should I say JAM SESSION!!!!!!!!!
I look forward to Walter Beasley's performance at the Birchmere each year and I am consistently happy I made the decision to attend. In spite of a painful foot he sang, blew his sax, performed with his little brother and even played a bass guitar! His stage presence was exceptional and his interaction with the audience as usual was spontaneous and warm. My only disappointment is that he did not sing "Do you wanna dance". Oh well. . . maybe next time.Playing with his brother and older cousin was great. I love his vocals and sax so whatever he does is a favorite moment. I did think the Chuck Brown piece was fun. We love Walter Beasley! The food was NOT GOOD. I usually look forward to the Greek salad (I am vegetarian). In the past the chef used baby lettuce so the leaves were fresh and tender. The salad I received was bitter, leaves were tough and black and green olives were used instead of kalamata olives.. I sent the order back to get the vegetarian pasta. It was even worse. It was heavily (over) seasoned with black pepper. I could not eat it. The food was a huge disappointment.
It as a great show and they sound very good to my ears. We had a great meal and show with some true professional.
My first time seeing Beasley and my first time at this venue. Show was excellent and Walter is definitely steeped in the traditions of how to connect with and entertain a crowd.Birchmere is a great venue however the prep time it takes to ensure good seating is a bit lengthy. We got there at 5:15 for a 7:30 show. All service was excellent.
Walter Beasley sang and played some oldies and some new ones -- all were great. Good show - enjoyed his humor, his stories, his voice, his songs.
This was the first time at the Birchmere and the atmosphere was unforgettable! For what I could tell there were no bad seats anywhere and the sound was right on. Beasley and the Band was out of this world! The food was so good. Worth every penny!
It was very good. He did old and new songs. He was also very engaging and fun.
A friend and I went to see Walter this pass weekend. What an awesome show. Walter, what an wonderful testimony and thanks for keeping it real. This was our first time at the Birchmere (intimate setting).
This brother was amazing. I remember the beginning days of WHUR, Washington, DC. Walter is very modest. He does not take credit for the era that brought us Smooth Jazz. However, truth be told, his sound was very instrumental in bringing us the era we so desperately needed. The amazing part is that his sound is "as Fresh as Ever".
The show was AWESOME as always! The Birchmere is a nice venue.
I always enjoy seeing Walter Beasley he is def one of my favorite artist.
It started with Walter Beasley visiting the early arrivals in line at the Birchmere. Said "hi", posed for pictures and handed out free copies of his 2012 CD to all. Later he had his latest release "Sax Meditations II" for sale (just released). His performance was great. Excellent backing band. Special guest was a 21 yo sax student who did a duet with Walter. Played some tracks from the new CD as well crowd Favorites. Excellent connection with the audience. Many WB fans in the audience. Show was sold out. Looking forward to his next performance in the DMV and I will be there.
The evening was simply awesome. Great atmosphere, food, and show was all I knew it would be.
I think the show was good. I would rather have heard more of Walter Beasley, as opposed to his show casing his brother and student, although they were both good as well. I was expecting that the show would last at least until 10.
Walter Beasley is an amazing artist, singer, and musician. I would best describe his music as smooth jazz sprinkled with a bit of R&B and soul. He is brilliant on the sax and his voice has a way of mesmorizing your soul as you hum and sway along with the music. It was simply a delightful evening and I would highly recommend music lovers, to catch one his shows when he performs in your area.
