    Good show. Bad seating.

by Ladymafia2000 on 3/9/22Walnut Street Theatre - Philadelphia

I enjoyed the show. Everything about it was great - acting, costumes, set, sound, etc. The mystery included lots of comedic moments. To fully enjoy the show, it helps if you're familiar with Britain and Sherlock. Otherwise, you may not catch some things. It lasted about 2hrs which included a roughly 15 mins intermission. I found $10 seats and paid about $33 for 2 tickets after taxes and fees. I don't think I would pay full price for it. Not that it wasn't that good. I'm just that cheap😅. My only issue was with the seating. The seats themselves are comfortable enough, but the rows are too close together. Also, there is very little room under the seats in front of you, so you can't even stretch your legs out a little. I'm just under 5'3" and if I was uncomfortable I would imagine it would be far worse for a taller person.

    Very nice experience

by CF on 3/8/22Walnut Street Theatre - Philadelphia

This is the first time I have ventured into Philadelphia for live theater. I didn't know my way around and that produced a bit of anxiety. The theater was well situated and easy to find. The parking was as easy as pie with the lot attached to the theater. Easy in and out. We got to the theater about 90 minutes early intending to find a place for lunch. Also didn't know our way around but the diners, restaurants and coffee places were abundant. The theater itself is very nice. I would say that every seat would be a good one. We sat near the back of the mezzanine and it was absolutely fine for viewing the stage and hearing the show. I will caution that the seats are small. I am an average size and my knees were touching the back of the seat in front of me. The theater is well maintained with easy entry and exit. The show itself was delightful. It was a Sherlock Holmes mystery and the cast seemed to be having lots of fun on stage. Very professional. Nice sets. I definitely recommend this venue and will be visiting it again soon.

    Great show, rude patrons

by KB on 3/2/22Walnut Street Theatre - Philadelphia

The show was enjoyable, but the venue needs to enforce long-standing theater tradition of not seating latecomers until a break in the performance.

Almost fell asleep! ZZZZZzzz. Snorefest at BEST!!! Zzzzz

by Jaymes T. on 3/2/22Walnut Street Theatre - Philadelphia

I just found it draggy. CORNY! The actors were OK and did a acceptable and physically comical performance. The sets were fabulous and the costumes were adequate for the time and what the play called for. I heard several other people complaining that it was stupid and the ending was quite surprising and confusing and I am pretty smart and it went in the direction I wasn’t able to comprehend. I don’t want to waste anymore time on this because it wasn’t worth my time and the little mermaid was much more amazing and was a crowd pleaser and deserved standing ovations! I am looking forward to seeing Patsy Cline Beehive was very high energy and it was nice to see biracial dancers learn all the moves in fabulous colored dresses and feathers and all the great music and I thought Janis Joplin was incredible

Second half was shorter and more interesting. First half dragged, in fact, some people around us fell asleep. Actors we great. Material was not.
