The Walnut Street Theatre's rendition of Cole Porter's High Society was simply marvelous! It was masterfully directed and excitingly performed! The color, music and performance of the actors made the show that more spectacular! A MUST SEE!
First act was very slow and boring. Second act redeemed the show. The music was old and unfamiliar, surprising since Bing Crosby's music was so familiar. Still good to see live theater.
The Cole Porter score was great.I was familiar with the story from the movie. The cast did a very good job.
Was a wonderful experience. Enjoyed every part of it. The stage was filled with true professionals.
The play was wonderful. The acting and singing were top notch, the scenery attractive and it was an overall wonderful experience.
The actors were fabulous. The story stands the test of time. I felt as if I was back in time with the story, all the actors, sets and wardrobe. Beautiful singing voices. The young girl actor was very impressive too.She could handle herself as well as the adults. The ensemble was entertaining and talented too. I've never been to the Walnut St. Theatre. It is beautiful.
Wonderfully acted. No seconds to NYC. Delightful and made me happy as I watched it, especially the ending.
Well I'll start by saying that I am very new to the play scene. I am a huge lover of film and acting and I am beginning to branch out to live plays. I have only been to one other play (The Phantom of the Opera on Broadway) but I found High Society truly phenomenal. I did like it better than the Phantom of the Opera. Maybe because of the front row seats...But the actors were great, music was perfect and I love the theatre. I think this play was the form of entertainment I have ever had. I'm glad I watch it.
The cast and staging were great, the venue was historical, but the rude venue staff detracted from the experience.
