    Great harmonies

    by Kat1023 on 4/2/11Birchmere - Alexandria

The Wailin' Jennys put on an amazing show. Their voices blend together so well. The banter between songs was fun and engaging. They sang a lot from the new album. I'd definitely pay to see them again.

    Incredible Voices!

    by bszack62 on 4/2/11Birchmere - Alexandria

The ladies of Wailin Jenny's are amazing singers individually. Put them together and they are out of this world. The harmonies they demonstrate cut you to the bone and each song they sing brings out the best in each of them. We met them afterward at a CD signing session and they are great people as well. I intend to follow this group for the rest of my life or to the end of their careers whichever occurs first. You will not be disappointed!

    Wailin' Jennys - Good Harmonies

by CMBH on 4/2/11Birchmere - Alexandria

A wonderful evening of folk music by talented musicians. Their harmonies are the best currently in the business. Well worth the ticket price!

    Even better live

by Fudj on 4/2/11Birchmere - Alexandria

The Wailin' Jennys have put out four really good albums with very good songs, three great voices in harmony and superior musicianship. Seen and heard live, all three qualities are even more evident, and the togetherness of the group stands out. Maybe think of them as a Canadian (more folksy) version of the Dixie Chicks.

I missed out last year by waiting too long and the show sold out. This year, I bought the tickets months in advance. I'd seen you tube videos but never live until now; they did not disappoint. The sound was seamlessly blended. These are 3 ladies who sing like angels and when they sing in 3 part harmony, I get chills down my spine. Ruth's brother played a mean viola and artistically complemented the music. Overall it was a great show and I would certainly like to see them again.

    Great concert!

The Jennys were exceptional. They sang several songs from their new CD "Bright Morning Stars." You cannot go wrong with a Wailin Jennys concert.

    Best Concert Ever

by MerrilyMerrily on 4/1/11Birchmere - Alexandria

I've seen the Jennys a few times before... This one was BY FAR the best. The Birchmere is the perfect setting to see them in because it is so intimate and their music comes across as delicate but powerful. The world is a more better place because of the Wailin' Jennys and their beautiful music.

Nice voices, not much else to cheer

    by MACK2011 on 4/1/11Birchmere - Alexandria

The Wailin' Jennys had nice voices and harmonies. They were so-so musicians (except the fiddler, a brother of one of them who knew what he was doing). Play list was mostly sad songs. The Birchmere is a dump, food and drinks were terrible. Their logistics were also poor.

    Art in 3 part

by pharlington on 4/1/11Birchmere - Alexandria

Excellent show at the Birchmere. The Jennys are amazing - all three have marvelous solo voices yet have the ability to sing as an ensemble without any one voice sticking out. The instrumental work was tasty without distracting from the vocal performance. A special nod to the "male Jenny" for his fiddle and mandolin work. Another nod to the sound crew for letting us hear all those great sounds.
