This was my 3rd Vivian Green concert and I love this woman's music. She is a great performer and I will see her again and again. Her show is worth watching over and over again.

    A Little Piece of Vivian

by JustKause on 4/6/10Birchmere - Alexandria

I'll keep it short and to the point. Vivian Green has a great voice and sings with quite a bit of power. In terms of technique, she's not the greatest singer in the world. In fact, because she threw technique completely out the window for one song, it actual left her winded and a bit shaky for the next number. However, she truly left her soul on the stage. I don't think I've ever seen a show with such raw emotion. There were a couple of songs that either brought her to tears or put her on the verge of crying. "Jordan's Song" in particular left me with goosebumps. As a disclaimer, I will say this is more of a promo tour she's on for her new album. She didn't really do many songs from her previous two albums. The songs on the new album are pretty good, though. There were some new songs that were great. There was one I really didn't like at all. There were a couple that were ok. But there were some that are outright unforgettable. In the end, I've never been so emotionally drawn into a show as I was at Ms. Green's. She truly put her soul into her performance and everyone in the audience felt like they went home with a little piece of Vivian.

She is an amazing singer. The band played too loud to really enjoy the vocals. But don't let that distract you from seeing her.

    Okay

by DrkMagic on 4/6/10Birchmere - Alexandria

I am a big fan of Vivian Green and will continue to support her, she is a tremendous vocalist; HOWEVER the performance on April 5 left me a bit deflated and wanting more. I know she has a new album to promote but she could have mixed it up a little . Ms. Green's set was composed entirely of her upcoming DISC, only the encore consisted old material she sang a total of 3 songs from her previous offerings and even then for me it was a little to late.

    Vivian Green's new CD is...OK.

by Jaliya on 4/6/10Birchmere - Alexandria

Vivian Green played at the Birchmere last night and it was average. She performed many new songs from a CD that will be released on tues,April,th,which she mentioned several times during her set.I thought her performance was good, but the songs that I heard form the new CD,didn't inspire me to go out and buy it!!! II couldn't understand most of the lyrics from many of the songs that she performed, acoustics were terrible in my opinion,so some things she were singing ,I couldn't understand !!! She didn't sing any of her older songs until she came back for an encore, and I think she could have incorporated old with the new,but I am sure she was there pushing her new CD,which is just...OK!!!

    Sweetness

    by LennyRX8 on 4/6/10Birchmere - Alexandria

Vivian was pushing her new CD that drops today, so it took awhile for the crowd to warm up. But her warm personality, strong, wide-ranging vocals and more than adequate back-up vocals eventually brought the crowd around. A song dedicated to her son was a very personal moment for Vivian and the crowd was feeling it. Her walk/talk among the audience was a nice touch and she finally got everyone ramped up by doing some old favorites in the encore. She's a keeper!

Her performance was wonderful and she looked great! It was a real treat to reconnect with her after her five year hiatus. Vivian was personable, funny and she still sings with the same passion we all remember!

by RDGaines on 4/6/10Birchmere - Alexandria

Vivian was as beautiful as ever and played a great set off her new album that dropped today along with some old classics. Took the time to answer audience questions and explained some of her music. Band was great too!
