Porter held nothing back, show is not for everyone

by thebballkid on 9/17/18WaMu Theater - Seattle

If you think you're seeing Porter Robinson, slightly altered, you're dead wrong. Virtual Self was an ode to old European warehouse parties with very, I repeat, VERY intense trance music that you will probably find it hard to dance to. I was hoping for a bit of a mix of both his beautiful music he is known for and the new style he is experimenting with. Instead he went fully and annoyingly in the latter direction. Save your money and stay at home.

Come for the music, not for the vibe

by MonkeyPuzzleTree on 9/17/18WaMu Theater - Seattle

USC events have had a long history of making it hard for ravers to have a good time. From the miscommunication about what is allowed and what is not at the entrance (a security lady tried to confiscate my fiber whip even though both the written rules on the website and USC representatives allowed it in the venue). Raito, EPROM, & Virtual Self were great, and I really enjoyed the music as well as the visuals. Though there are some judgmental vibes lingering in the crowd, a lot of people were friendly, respectful, and willing to experience the electronic dance music scene.

    Spectacular!

    by Ismiller80 on 9/16/18WaMu Theater - Seattle

I knew it was going to be a great show, but my expectations were far surpassed! Virtual self was amazing, one of the top five live events I've ever seen.

    Lighting Programming was Phenomenal

by ZRPBassCanyon on 9/16/18WaMu Theater - Seattle

This was hands down the show with the best lighting design I have ever been to. Virtual Self’s LD has set the bar for future shows.

    Amazing show

Wamu theater has always been one of my favorite venues, and Virtual Self was even better live than I could have ever imagined.

    Greatest performer I’ve seen... Ever

    by Bryce10125 on 9/16/18WaMu Theater - Seattle

I’ve seen Porter both on his worlds tour, and now in his Virtual Self tour and he has amazed me beyond belief both times. I didn’t even know who he was when I saw his worlds tour and now I’m a huge fan. I will never miss one of this guys shows again. Plus the WaMu theatre was a very cool venue. Small enough to be personal but big enough to have a great light show.

    A whole different world

by TheBeholder on 9/14/18Armory - Minneapolis

I waited for over a month to see porter Robinson and when I did, I never expected so much beauty to come out of one person. But I realized it was us all together. The way we look at where we are and what we are doing is everything. What I saw was all these different people coming to one location with just one goal, to have fun, to enjoy, to experience music. The venue was amazing. By far one of the best I’ve ever been to. Sure tickets can be pricey. But money isn’t a care when you realize and see what you really paid for. An experience. All together as one. Just trying to make it to the next day. Everyday. But there is beauty in that. We are all here and we all see the same thing. You have your eyes and I have mine. Look inside and you’ll see. Thank you porter Robinson and everyone running the venue and lights and all the staff. You were incredible.

Virtual Self was amazing! He brought back some old school trance with his own futuristic vibe. Light show was great. Venue is unique but still never feel like the sound system is great for these types of shows.

Plus the dj that played before him. Just right. Perfect way to end the night!
