VINYL THEATRE IN CONCERT:

Indie rockers Vinyl Theatre blend melodic hooks and crunching guitars with electronic beats to create a jubilant sound that gets fans on their feet. Booming rhythms keep concert-goersí heads nodding while atmospheric keyboards swoosh and swirl to transport them to a dreamy soundscape. Frontman Keegan Calmes gets caught up in the spell as well, whether heís projecting his soaring melodies or dancing along with ticket buyers during each rhythmic breakdown and funky guitar solo. Vinyl Theatre always delivers tons of singalong fun and unique grooves on standouts like ìBreaking Up My Bonesî, ìIf You Say Soî, and ìSummerî, and indie addicts wonít want to miss a beat.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Milwaukee-natives Keegan Calmes (vocals, guitar) and Chris Senner (keyboards) became fast friends in high school after they met at a cross-country meet. Though Senner moved to Colorado for college, the two began collaborating musically through email and over Skype, eventually cutting a demo together. When Senner moved back to Milwaukee in 2012 to pursue music full time, he and Calmes officially founded Vinyl Theatre. After generating buzz with several songs posted to SoundCloud, the group signed a record contract with Fueled by Ramen in 2014 and released their debut record Electrogram. The band later opened for MisterWives and label mates Twenty One Pilots on tour, helping them build a national fanbase and score their first headlining tour in 2015. With the viral success of videos like ìBreaking Up My Bonesî and ìShine Onî, Vinyl Theatre continues to climb the indie rock ranks and bring their vibrant and danceable songs to fans around the world.

This was one of the shows on Vinyl Theatre's first headline tour, and it was an unforgettable experience. Their opening act (Machine Heart) was perfect for getting you pumped for Vinyl to come out. Vinyl was absolutely incredible! They have so much energy when they perform and you can tell they're all having a great time putting on a show for their fans. They sound just as great live as they do on their recorded tracks. They also came out after they were done performing to meet all the fans and take pictures, all of them are so nice and really take time to talk to everyone one-on-one and make sure you had a great time.

    Incredible

by vinylcat on 7/7/15The Basement - Columbus

After being a fan for quite a while, it was amazing to finally see them in concert. Their opener, Machineheart, was fine- something that bothered me was that the length of their part and of VT's were nearly the same, but they were good for the most part. Enter Vinyl Theatre. They started off with If You Say So, and took it on from there. Needless to say, it was one of the best things I've ever attended. Keegan and Chris covered When You Were Young by The Killers, and it was the most beautiful thing I had ever heard live. Their performance was refreshingly energetic and you could feel their love for the music. The venue itself was okay. At first, I think the microphone made Keegan's voice sound like a chipmunk, but then it cleared up after that. The audio definitely could've been better, but the intimate space was comforting. Overall, an unforgettable concert.
