Vikki Carr delivered a "Las Vegas Strip headliner" show at the off-strip Eastside Cannery Saturday night the was better than any show I've seen recently on the strip. Her voice was as good as it was 30yrs. ago and the audience loved her. She had a good selection of her hits and included others. I definitely will be on the look-out for future shows.
Vikki Carr at the Tobin Center of Performing Arts... I was lucky to fly down to San Antonio to catch Vikki's show during the opening week celebration of this fine theatre. This venue was sold out and Vikki deserved every ovation given to her throughout the two hour show. Vikki featured many selections from her famed "Live at the Greek" 2 LP released by Columbia Records. Performing her famous Judy Garland Medley took the audience over the edge....a night I will not forget! Special thanks to Katy Silva, Aaron Zimmerman, Christopher Novosad and Yvonne Keilman who went that extra mile to please Vikki's fans.
Vikki Carr still has a strong and powerful voice. She sounded very good. My comment is that I did not even know she sang in English. All of the work I have heard has been in Spanish. I was disappointed she did not conduct the concert in Spanish instead of English. She performed in McAllen where 95+ of the population speaks Spanish. Because a very small percentage of the concert goes did not speak Spanish she chose to conduct it in English. Her voice remains strong, however her movements on stage were stiff. I would have preferred she sang more songs in Spanish, less in English and not so much "witty banter".
Mrs. Carr 's concert was AMAZING !!!! She is not only a wonderful singer but a lovely person. She sang 2 1/2 hours straight . She was very friendly and talkative with the audience . Took request and looked BEAUTIFUL . She is a Class act and her humble personality makes her very special.
Loved it. Wonderful show. Would recommend this show for all ages. Absolutely Fabulous!
It was a dream come true for me. I had never seen her and I've been singing to her music since I was 15 yrs old. Loved yht concert!!
everithing was great,.... but she sang only a few songs and i missed the mariachis.
Not enough publicity sadly less than a third capacity sold. She sang as if it was a sold out house!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I loved the concert by Vikki Carr. I wish more people would have attended. This fund-raiser was not well advertised. Ms. Carr's voice is still as beautiful as ever. She is one superstar representative of our City of El Paso. Finally, the group that she brought was first class too and not too small.
