About

VANILLA ICE IN CONCERT:

From his days as one of the world's most famous rappers  to his reemergence as a genre-spanning rocker, Vanilla Ice has remained a consummate showman. The iconic flattop haircut and American flag warm-up suit of his "Ice Ice Baby" period may be gone, but the fire and energy that made him famous still abound at his electrifying live shows where he takes the stage alongside an inflatable grim reaper and launches buckets of confetti into the audience. The addition of a live drummer ensures that Ice's beat-heavy sound is bigger than ever on his must-see tours, where he treats ticket buyers to his hip-hop classics as well as recent fan favorites like "Turn It Up".

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Dallas-born Vanilla Ice, a.k.a. Robert Matthew Van Winkle, grew up influenced by hip-hop culture, taking up breakdancing in his teens and battle rapping at parties a few years later. In the late '80s he began performing regularly with his DJ and crew at a Dallas night club called City Lights, where he warmed up the stage for a variety of high-profile acts including N.W.A., Public Enemy, and MC Hammer. Ice made his recording debut in 1990 with "Ice Ice Baby", the lead single from his first album To the Extreme. The song was an international phenomenon, skyrocketing to No. 1 on charts around the world and establishing him as the first rapper to top the Billboard Hot 100. Several more hit singles followed including "Play That Funky Music" and "Cool as Ice (Everybody Get Loose)", but by the mid-'90s his star waned as he struggled with addiction and a grueling tour schedule. He returned to the spotlight in 1998 with the nu metal album Hard to Swallow, and has since dabbled in genres as far-ranging as country and techno on albums like 2001's Bi-Polar and 2011's W.T.F. (Wisdom, Tenacity, and Focus). Ice continues to entertain with his diverse sound and inimitable showmanship on his unforgettable tours.

Las Vegas House Party left the fans THIRSTY!!!!!!

by GoldieLocsLibraGoddess on 9/10/18Downtown Las Vegas Events Center - Las Vegas

Loved it, wanted more performance time from ALL the featured artists. Loved that Flava Flav made a cameo appearance but would've been cool if Public Enemy was included in the line up as the headliner along with Vanilla Ice. Vanilla Ice, you still got it but a lot of fans walked out when you did that electronic music stuff that had nothing to do with what put you on the map. Once U did Ice, Ice Baby less of a crowd & the momentum was lost. You were the headliner! KEEP THE FANS THIRSTY!!!!!!! The rest of the artists (KidnPlay, Rob Base, Naughty by Nature, etc...) Y'ALL BROUGHT IT & LEFT THE FANS THIRSTY!!! ROB BASE, BRING THE HOUSE PARTY BACK 2 VEGAS with PUBLIC ENEMY & other 80's/90's Hip Hop artists! THANK U!!!

Could be much better with a very small adjustment

    by MelCam0225 on 3/1/17Genesee Theatre - Waukegan

Tone Loc was great and loved his performance. Would have liked more Vanilla Ice, less annoying distractions on stage. I like that Vanilla Ice invites audience members to dance on stage but wished it weren't for most of his show. Too distracting to watch and he's such a great dancer and performer on his own. Some of the women were just trying to be too raunchy. I didn't pay to see girls trying to compete with each other like it was some kind of amateur strip club. One or two songs maybe but let the artists just perform instead! He also spent a good portion of the time with Tone Loc and Coolio doing free style on the mic and not as many familiar tunes. I was a little confused by the mellow ending with a couple Marley tunes but it was a cool and peaceful way to end the show.

While I certainly came into this event with high expectation, I was left rather disappointed. The headline act - Vanilla Ice started out strong, but when the sound system began experiencing technical difficulties they cut the entire show by almost half an hour short. Only 1 full Ice song, and only half of Ice Ice Baby and Ninja Rap were sung.

Intimate and fun show featuring tone loc coolio and vanilla ice. They played individually and then together at the end. Each taking time to invite just about anyone who wanted to dance up on stage. Vanilla ice in addition made sure he stayed long and took selfies with all who wanted one and there were many. Overall good time. I recommend.

Enjoyed the show. Just wish the wouldn't have everyone up on the stage all the time. We were on the front row and people were standing n front of And all over the stage the whole time. We paid dearly for front seats so I wish they wouldn't let let stand in the isles and in front

    Vanilla Ice - 35 - 40 minute Show

by Anonymous on 7/25/16CHOCTAW CASINO RESORT - GRANT CHOCTAW EVENT CENTER - Grant

He seriously sang for 3 or 4 songs then called anyone up on stage that wanted to go, sang one more song, then danced with the crowd on stage for 2 or 3 songs without singing. He couldn't even be seen the last few songs due to the crowd on stage. He kept talking about how all his friends and family were there, good for them... Wish I could get my money and time back.

    40 Minute Concert

by Papafire on 7/25/16CHOCTAW CASINO RESORT - GRANT CHOCTAW EVENT CENTER - Grant

Started 20 minutes late, played 5-6 songs, had 20+ audience members dancing on stage the whole time, and used the rest of the time for selfie pics with audience. Sang for maybe 40 minutes.

Young MC - Did a good job but did not do his all of his "HITS" he left out Principals Office Coolio - did a great job, connected well with the crowd. All 4 One - they were good, very talented group Color Me Badd - only 3 of them, did good, Salt - n- Pepa - BEST OF THE NIGHT. Energetic, and fun. Really Really good. Vanilla Ice - This was a 90's concert, He did a lot of his newer music, #pothead,Insane clown posse type crap# Disappointing to say the least. All in all, excluding Vanilla Ice, this was a fun fun concert.
