    Great but too expensive

by Jhin Wick IV on 8/29/23

Experience was amazing. The fan fest was fun, the preshow was entertaining, and the overall vibe was hype. My only issue was the ticket prices being so high. It shouldn't cost $100-$280 per ticket, especially when the game has a smaller player base and following compared to League of Legends which had tickets for their World finals selling for $40-$150 each as the initial prices before resellers. Not to mention when looking up the prices for tickets from resellers, they were significantly lower the day before and the day of the event, making me regret buying them when they first went on sale because of the fear of them selling out and being sold for double or triple the original price. Overall it was a great experience but the ticket sales were done terribly.

    I mean it’s alright

    by KJ on 8/29/23

Mostly the only positive points were inside the arena. Great production, good vibes, and amazing visual effects were created. I love Valorant, but so many things were left to be desired on the Grand Finals day. I don’t know how busy Thursday and Friday were, but it definitely felt very underprepared on Saturday. Fanfest was cool, but where was the map for the different booths/trucks and schedule for things like meet and greets? Riot couldn’t have made a general map and schedule to post online just for some guidance? There were short signposts pointing to general areas, but there were no signs on many booths so we still had no idea where we going. My group and other people got lost in multiple lines since they weren’t being structured well. Got stuck in a line for the meet and greet and forced to wait by an usher when we were trying to get past it to wait by the entrance of the arena. Almost the entire merchandise booth at the outside Fanfest was sold out by 9:30am. Obviously we still had a good time. But these improvements could have made it so much better.

    Great

The vibes were great. I really liked the wrist bands I think it'd be cool if they vibrated next time. I saw some famous people and that was cool too.

    Disappointing Experience and Exorbitant Prices

    by unhappy buyer on 8/28/23

I recently attended the Valorant Champions Tour event with high hopes of experiencing an epic esports tournament. Unfortunately, my excitement quickly turned into frustration and disappointment. The entire event left a bitter taste in my mouth, largely due to the exorbitant ticket prices and the outrageous resale market for tickets. First and foremost, the ticket prices for the Valorant Champions Tour were simply unreasonable. It felt as if Riot Games was trying to milk every last penny out of the fans' pockets. The cost of entry was so high that it bordered on offensive. For an event that was supposed to celebrate the competitive Valorant community, Riot's decision to slap such a hefty price tag on tickets was a major letdown. It's disheartening to see a company prioritize profits over the very community that has helped make their game a success. But what truly rubbed salt in the wound was the absurd secondary market for tickets. Riot's lack of effective measures to combat scalping meant that tickets were being resold for a fraction of their original price. It was disheartening to realize that I had paid full price for my ticket, only to find out that some lucky individuals had managed to snag them for a mere 10% of what I had paid. This not only made me feel cheated but also highlighted Riot's inability to manage the ticketing process effectively. The overall event experience was also lackluster. Given the high price of admission, I expected top-notch production values and an immersive atmosphere. Unfortunately, the event felt rushed and poorly organized. The lines for food, drinks, and merchandise were ridiculously long. In addition, the communication leading up to the event was sorely lacking. Important details, such as the event schedule were not communicated clearly, leaving attendees confused and frustrated. It's baffling how Riot, a company known for its attention to detail in-game, could fall so short in providing basic information to those who had invested their time and money in attending the event. All in all, my experience at the Valorant Champions Tour was far from satisfactory. The steep ticket prices, coupled with the rampant ticket resale market, left me feeling like I had been taken advantage of as a fan. Riot Games needs to seriously reevaluate their approach to event pricing and ticket distribution if they want to retain the loyalty and support of their player base. As someone who loves the game, I hope that future events will be better managed and more considerate of the community that has propelled Valorant to success.

    Valorant Champions 2023

    by Robbie on 8/27/23

I thoroughly enjoyed Valorant Champions 2023. My favorite part about attending the event was to finally experience the production that I usually watch on the livestream. Needless to say, the livestream does not do the full experience justice. The energy in the stadium followed by the intricacies of the lighting and graphics across multiple LED screens distributed through the center space created a unique experience. Riot Games have outdone themselves here and I look forward to the next Champions event!

    Seating assignment not followed.

    by Rick on 8/27/23

It was a nice event. I took my son who plays these games every waking hour of the day. Have toured many rock tours, I had respect in what I saw. The only complaint is the seating. On Thursday it was not as bad as many seats available. On Saturday being close to a full house, it was crazy trying to get people out of our seats. Every time I would go get food or use the toilet, came back to our seats being taken. As o tried to find other seats, people, as i got close, would stand up and give me there seat, thinking they were mine and moved. I got in line for Pinks hot dogs. One lady and a line 50 people plus, needed more help, and of course when I got to the counter, there were no more buns. The shirts my son wanted were sold out already on Thursday, need to have more on hand, can always sell them on eBay worse case is left over. 74 dollars for 4 hot dogs, a water and a beer is a rip off, as well as 55 dollars to park, I know the world is trying to catchup after covid, but just to costly for what you get ! Crazy. Good show, USA ! Make money off volume. With these prices labor should not be an issue at these events.
