About

USHER has cemented his status as a generation-defining superstar over a three-decade career. After releasing his 1997 breakthrough album My Way — his first album to make the Top 5 on the Billboard 200 — he defined the 2000s with Billboard Hot 100 No. 1 hits like “Yeah!” (featuring Lil Jon and Ludacris), “OMG” (featuring will.i.am) and “Love in This Club” (featuring Young Jeezy). USHER’s diamond-certified album Confessions (2004) marked his first No. 1 on the Billboard 200 and produced four No. 1 hits, including “My Boo” featuring Alicia Keys. The eight-time Grammy Award winner launched his “My Way” Las Vegas residency in July 2022, with tickets selling out almost immediately, and is set to embark on the massive USHER: Past Present Future run in 2024.

  • Loads of fun for the teeny bopper girls

by MomPatrol on 5/15/10Cricket Wireless Amphitheatre - Chula VistaRating: 5 out of 5

Since I took my 14-year old daughter and her friend, it was 100% what we expected and hoped for. Over 5 hours of party for 20,000 people, average age about 16... fun to put faces on the singers I hear on the radio. Alot of the backup dancing was overly sexual for the target audience, and the language from some of the songs / singers was more R-rated than necessary. (Those kids look up to those singers, why use that language?) I guess i'm not impressed by that or crotch grabbing. Anyway, JB was just what we wanted, the hype was perfect, the show was great. Thanks 93.3.

  • Summer kick off

by Anonymous on 5/15/10Cricket Wireless Amphitheatre - Chula VistaRating: 3 out of 5

Loved the line up... Usher was great ... Just dissapointed that it was all ages and there was alcohol smoking... And the way some of the performers talked not appropriate for kids especially knowing what the age range would be other than that was a good show

  • Usher was fantastic!

by HayleyMarie on 5/15/10Cricket Wireless Amphitheatre - Chula VistaRating: 5 out of 5

Overall the concert was pretty amazing. Usher was extremely good and I love the fact that he played a bunch of his older hits as well as the newer ones. Justin Bieber was better than I expected. I was kinda worried about his age but his performance was good and the kid can dance. Akon rocked my world! He was amazing and he was so sexy up there! Kesha was really good live and she was a good dancer. Jason DeRulo sounds great live! I love his album and I am so happy he played Ridin' Solo! That is my favorite song by him! Iyaz was great live but he didn't play very many songs. =( B.o.b. was great live and he played airplanes which made me extremely happy! I had never heard of JLS but I downloaded a few songs before going to the concert. They were very good live and I wouldn't be surprised if they got really popular really quick because of this concert. Overall it was a great show! The only thing is I wish that Jason DeRulo, B.o.b and Akon would have played more songs. They didn't play as many as I thought they would. Plus I heard the concert was supposed to end at 12 and it got out at 11:15 so those few artists definitely could have played a few more hits like Strobelight by Jason DeRulo! =D But this was my second summer kickoff concert with 933 and I plan to attend them for atleast the next few years cuz last years was amazing and this years was damn right sexy! <3 Hayley

  • Was Shcocked!

by JazzEfizzle on 5/15/10Cricket Wireless Amphitheatre - Chula VistaRating: 3 out of 5

So this was an all ages show, right? It should not have been! There was a lot of little kids at this concert to see Justin Bieber and that is fine but he should have had his own concert. This concert was very inappropriate, especially for the age groups there. Kesha was cursing on stage( F word) and Akon was yelling out "get naked" and sexy bitches" which would have been fine if there were no kids around. Akon was even griniding on stage and ripped his shirt off. Some parent left during his performance because they did not want their children seeing that. Justin Beiber hadn't even performed yet. He should have been one of the first performers not right before Usher. Like I said the conert was good but just very inappropriate for the age group. Kesha sounds HORRIBLE live! So SCARY!!

  • best night of my life!!!

by jbsshulkow on 5/15/10Cricket Wireless Amphitheatre - Chula VistaRating: 5 out of 5

the lines were long but thats cuz there were hundreds of people there, they moved fairly fast and everyone who worked there was very nice. The music was fantastic!!! There were a few songs that definately NOT "all age" appropriate but for the most part it was all kid and adult friendly. All in all, it was one of the best nights of my life!!!

  • Awesome!

by Anonymous on 5/15/10Cricket Wireless Amphitheatre - Chula VistaRating: 5 out of 5

We had so much fun! The performers were amazing. They really made you feel a part of their night. Akon getting the crowd to surround him, leaving behind the security issues was over the top! Wish I could have been in the front row for that one. Justin bringing a teen on stage to sing to her and give her an arm full of roses was adorable. Usher with a full stage of lights and effects, his amazing entrance had the whole crowd screaming for more. This was my daughters first concert and it was the TIME OF HER LIFE! A big thanks to all the wonderful women sitting around us. I will say that we could have done without Ke$ha though. She was so messed up I lost count at how many times she almost fell on stage and was waiting for her to fall off the stage. Thanks Channel 93.3 for an amazing night!!!

  • Justin Bieber was AMAZING!!!

by Gmonayyy on 5/15/10Cricket Wireless Amphitheatre - Chula VistaRating: 5 out of 5

It was a very good show, minus Ke$ha who could not sing a note and looked like she was extremely wasted on stage. Akon, Justin Bieber, and Usher were all very good!

  • Akon was amazing, and Usher the ultimate performer

by spore88 on 5/15/10Cricket Wireless Amphitheatre - Chula VistaRating: 4 out of 5

The line-up was great and they did not disappoint the crowd. It helped that we had awesome seats :-) The only negative was the venue and the poor traffic control. Took over an hour to get out of that place!

  • They were all unforgettable!

by RPImom on 5/15/10Cricket Wireless Amphitheatre - Chula VistaRating: 5 out of 5

All of the performers were awesome. Justin, Usher, Kesha and Akon were why I was there and they did not disappoint.

  • Mixed reviews

by Anonymous on 5/15/10Cricket Wireless Amphitheatre - Chula VistaRating: 3 out of 5

A lot of talent for one night. I took 14 year old girls which was Ok but the concert was marketed "for all ages". This was not a concert for anyone younger than 14. Too many young kids there to see Justin Bieber and they were on the grass seleeping and crying because they were tired. The lyrics of Ke$ha and other were very inappropriate for yournger kids. 93.3 loses credibility. Also - Cricket shuld include in their list of "rules" that on the grass people are not allowed to have people on their shoulders. Completely blocked the view, cuased tension and lack of courtesy. Too many long breaks.

  • JB and Akon were incredible!!!!

by Hermie6 on 5/15/10Cricket Wireless Amphitheatre - Chula VistaRating: 5 out of 5

Had a great time Justin Beiber and akon just ripped that stage apartt!!lawn is the way to goo for suree!

  • Justin Bieber was the bomb!!

Pefect Summer Kick-Off concert event-just what my girls needed to get revived for the last month of school.

  • my review

by concertgoer619 on 5/15/10Cricket Wireless Amphitheatre - Chula VistaRating: 5 out of 5

The concert was excellent. The only negative comment was the fact that it was way too long. The concert started at six and it didnt end past 11 pm. For future events, it would be better if there were less down time between each singer. The light and sound systems were unbelievable. YOu guys rock.

  • USHER WAS AWESOME!!!

by Scales on 5/15/10Cricket Wireless Amphitheatre - Chula VistaRating: 5 out of 5

He was great! Though, I wish he would have stayed on a little longer. He was on stage for less than an hour :-(
