    Tailgating and football in April

by Mike on 4/19/22Protective Stadium - Birmingham

The stadium was immaculate. It seemed to be brand new. It was so easy to get to from the highway, and the lot was also easy to find. Plenty of room for traditional tailgating! The game was exciting, and the quality of play was a surprisingly high level. We enjoyed ourselves very much. Bathrooms were well kept, and the line moved quickly. Everyone we encountered working the game was pleasant and helpful! Only con is it took about a half hour to forty minutes to get concessions.

Good football | Long concession lines

by walddog on 4/19/22Protective Stadium - Birmingham

The inaugural game for the USFL enjoyed what I have to presume was a better than expected attendance in person. The action on the field and "filler" between commercial breaks was very good. Also, Protective Stadium as a whole is a great venue. However, the stadium was woefully under prepared for the crowd in terms of concessions. We planned on a hotdog, hamburger and a beer, but the lines for food and drink were UNBEARABLE. I understand the crowd level was hard to gauge, but given the enormity of the game, you'd think the stadium would err to the side of over-staffing versus under-staffing. Very disappointing. Hopefully, they will be more prepared for the next Stallions game. We really are rooting for Protective Stadium and the City of Birmingham!!

    Great value

by Eric on 4/19/22Protective Stadium - Birmingham

We saw a quality football game in a decent stadium for a very reasonable price. Could there have been more merchandise vendors? Absolutely, but I got everything I wanted and needed with minimal wait and effort. I wasn’t expecting a Titans-Giants game, but the quality was pretty darn good considering the abbreviated training camp. I’d go every week if I lived remotely close to Birmingham.

    Great football... Horrible Concessions

by Goose on 4/19/22Protective Stadium - Birmingham

Football and quality of play was great. Announcers and atmosphere was awesome. But the concessions wait time was horrible and it wasn't a one time thing. Wait times were long for the Birmingham Bowl also. So if you go (which i hope you do) get everything you need from the concessions in one trip. If not, you'll miss at least a quarter waiting in line.

I Thought It Would Be a Family Experience

by Calvin on 4/19/22Protective Stadium - Birmingham

I thought the game would be a family experience, but with such low attendance, and a dead atmosphere, children could hear all of the profanity from the field. I also noticed that the USFL promotes endless profanity on it's league sponsored TikTok page, so this may be part of the league culture that is being created.

    Seats

by Wolf 11 on 4/19/22Protective Stadium - Birmingham

The game was a great atmosphere but I had no Idea where my seats were inside the stadium. I just ended up sitting where I thought my seats should have been. There was no assigned seats just said premium section on my stub. Long lines at the concession area.

    Great experience!

by Andy on 4/19/22Protective Stadium - Birmingham

I would have loved a pregame primer on the scoreboard. What rules are unique to the USFL?

    Awesomeness

by David Kerr on 4/19/22Protective Stadium - Birmingham

Even though it was rainy up until the game started, my Wife, Son, and his Fiance' all had an absolute blast at the game. The player introductions, the National Anthem, the game and even the fireworks afterwards was great.

    Question about kids being free

    by L. B. on 3/31/22

I bought 2 seat tickets to the game in Easter Sunday for my boyfriend and I. We both have 2 young kids. I was wondering if they can also get in with us and sit in our laps in the seats. I know with general admission they can stand with us. Not sure if the kids being free apply to actual seats. Thanks in advance for any reply!
