What an exciting event!!! This was an exhibition game that was truly amazing to see. The girls played their hearts out!!! Watch out world, the USA team will be tough to beat! P.S.- Watching the UCONN women on the team was an absolute pleasure, along with getting to see Gino coach!
GREAT GAME!!! IT WAS SO NICE SEEING SO MANY OLD FACES. IT WAS A BIT QUIETER THAN A UCONN GAME BUT ALL IN ALL WAS JUST AS EXCITING.
We loved our seats, they were better than expected. We never had floor seats before and Team USA was shooting at the basket right in front of us in second half. This Team will be unstoppable once they have their entire roster and gel together. I was really impressed with the hustle and play of Tamika Catchings, Simeon Augustus, Kara Lawson and Asijha Jones, and when Diana Taursi finally came in to the game, she was passing like John Stockton. Maya Moore Played like a professional. It Felt like a home game for Team USA due to the warm reception the crowd gave its returning "Family Members"
The USA women are amazing. The game was nonstop action. See them and support the USA if you get the chance!
It was so exciting to watch the players that we have seen and heard about as contenders over the years and to see how really great they are when they all play together.
What a great chance to see the best players in the US! Loved that the coach and so many players are from UConn!!
Team USA looks great and ready for the World Championships. Australia is ranked #2 in the world and the US team easily handled them. Wishing Coach Auriema and the team the best of luck. Bring home the gold!
Great event. Saw most ot the top US women basketball players play together. Also saw a UConn dream team of all the top players of the past several years. Amazing...
We really enjoyed seeing our "Girls" display their skills as they practice as a team. The XL Center was unexpectedly easy to find, park, and depart!!! A great arena and good attendants!
There isn't a need to sell me on this type of event since I am a "women's basketball-aholic" ever since I started watching UCONN Women when Nykesha Sales was in college. I am a 8 yr season ticket holder w/the WNBA CT Sun so having my girls Tina Charles, Asjha Jones & Renee Montgomery AND our former Sun girl, Lindsay Whalen on the USA Team draws me to them all the more. With Erin Phillips, another former Sun player, on the Australian Opals, it became imperative that I attend this game. I do wonder why the price of the VIP ticket I paid for was so vastly higher than the seat my friend paid for on the floor just a couple days before the event? Me, $173. Him, $75. Yes, I did get to sit in a very hot room waiting for a "chalk talk" by Geno Auriemma that was suppose to happen at 6pm but the man didn't arrive till 6:40 or later! I ended up missing my opportunity to see the USA gals practicing on the court & to grab a hug from some of them - "Lindsay Whalen" especially. LOVE the photo I've added because it shows both Erin Phillips & Lindsay Whalen, former team mates, guarding each other during the game! Ran quick to center court to catch my own copy of Geno & his former UCONN players (3 of which are on my CT Sun team).
My wife and I enjoyed the game Our seats were great (Section 116) Both teams played with great intensity. One problem was that the picutre on the scoreboard video board was poor (XL Center, Hartford ). Not very good in these days of HD clarity.
Time to get back into the basketball fever, what a great way to start.
This event gave my wife and I an opportunity to see some of favorite former and current UConn Husky stars up close and in action. The seat that I had were on the floor and one row back. Sounds great right? Wrong. Between the folks directly in front of us blocking parts of our view, and the constant flow of "arena" and support staff walking by the seats turned out to be less than ideal. At the halftime we moved up a few rows off the floor into empty seats and it made a world of difference. The game was hightly competitive and very enjoyable. The US team should win the gold in 2012.
It was a great game - even though the score was lopsided. The intesity that the women played with was great! Excellent ball passing.
The woman's team is amazing ! They set the standard for all other teams both men and womans in every sport . They play as a TEAM , no divas , no egos, and no "look at me I'm a superstar" ( pppppsssssttttt NBA take notice ). Thank you ladies for setting the best example for our children !
Great event--got to see many of the greats in women's basketball.
