Urzila Carlson’s show left me with sore cheeks. I laughed so hard I worried I might actually die in a public venue. I lost control of my face. Her bits are so painfully relatable and her accent is awesome. Everything she says just sounds that much funnier. I would listen to her narrate my tax audit. If you’re considering seeing her live, stop considering. Just go. And bring tissues.
A great comedian has come to Ottawa. She sold out the Algonquin Commons Theatre. I laughed for almost two hours straight. She is funny, relatable, and seems like just a wonderful human being. Urzila brought her Kiwi/South African quirks, and we gave her a warm Canadian welcome (by losing her luggage at the airport of course). Will definitely see her again if she's in town. Come back next year Urzila!
