I attended Friday night just to hear Brian Culbertson. He was awesome. His band was great! Looking forward to catching him again in ATL in August. Enjoyed Peter White & Euge Groove as they set the tone for the final act...Brian C. Great job guys! I will be attending future Jazz Festivals.
The Timewarner Ampitheater is a wonderful venue. There's nothing like Jazz under the stars. Every performer was amazing but my favorites were Vincent Ingala, Brian Culberston and BWB. I really enjoy the perks of the VIP package and applaud the organizers for this year's gift bags - a vast improvement over prior years. I'm already looking forward to next year.
The whole night turned out great. He is a great pianist and you can tell he loved what he was doing. Kept the audience enthralled.
The shows started timely and it took only a short period of time to reset the stage for the next performers. All of the performances was very energetic and engaging. The sound was excellent. Very enjoyable concert.
THE ENTIRE FESTIVAL BOTH FRIDAY & SATURDAY NIGHTS WERE AWESOME! I HAD A FANTASTIC TIME AND WAS BLESSED WITH SOME GREAT TALENT AND WONDERFUL MUSIC. TAMMY GREEN IS INDEED "THE JAZZ DIVA" THANK YOU SO MUCH TAMMY FOR BRINGING SUCH AWESOME TALENT TO CHARLOTTE. ALREADY LOOKING FORWARD TO NEXT YEAR.
I really enjoyed the show. Both nights had great music that rocked the house. From 5th & York (apparently a local band that was pretty good) to the closing BWB, a solid 5 stars. The VIP amenities left a little to be desired. Having the Fillmore next to the amphitheater is a plus, but not enough food and only one serving line left me disappointed. Drinks were a little pricey, I guess that's to be expected. At the end of the day; I'll come back.
Awesome event - musicians couldn't be better! Parking was easy and traffic moved well, lines went quickly in bathrooms, plenty to eat and drink (although a bit pricey - $11 for a beer!), concert goers were friendly and polite - a great two nights all in all.
The whole of Friday night at the 4th Annual Uptown Charlotte Jazz Festival was awesome! From the incredibly good opening act (5th & York, a local Charlotte group), to Brian Culbertson, it was outstanding!
