Took my young daughter to UW Gymnastics vs. Minnesota - the first athletic event that she actually WANTED to go to. Everything about the experience exceeded expectations. The pace of the event was perfect for young kids: Always something going on, but with just enough separation and preparation that she could track everything. PRO TIP: definitely get there in time to watch warmups! So much activity, and a chance to see the teams interacting with each other and just being college kids, before they put on their game faces. My daughter quickly picked her favorite gymnast, just by watching how smiley she was with her teammates, and how strong she looked in warmups. Gave her an extra thrill to then see "her" gymnast compete. A COUPLE MORE GREAT THINGS: The band was fantastic, giving extra energy throughout. The clips and bits on the jumbotron were very professionally made, and gave things a "Big Time" feel, much more than expected for an event with ~300 spectators. Also, lots of great freebies for kids to take home, like posters and fridge magnets. All in all, a magical event for a kid who loves gymnastics. Oh, wait, almost forgot: The actual gymnastics on display were amazing, and seemed almost super-human when viewed up-close.
