My first real opera experience will never be forgotten! Such a beautiful portrayal of the saga of slavery and the Underground Railroad by the UK Opera Theatre under the direction of the amazing Dennis Darling, a personal and special friend of mine! So many talented performers brought this true story to life with such dignity, grace and raw emotion! Beautiful work!
SANCTUARY gets 5 stars in my book. I have more to say - but no room.
A challenging and powerful evening. The quality of the musical performances was superb. Very glad to have had the privilege of seeing this performance by a premier organization.
The UK opera program was an outstanding performance of an important story of American history, the underground railroad. The opera should be performed across the country.
I always love attending performances by the University of Kentucky’s opera group, and this was no exception. Sanctuary Road was fabulous in every possible way. The vocalists were astounding , the Orchestra, the acting, the play itself, was incredible. I am looking forward to future performances by the UK Opera; I no longer need to follow the Metropolitan Opera because the productions by this group are a+
Sanctuary Road beat all my expectations. This show needs to be presented all over the United States. Everything about it-from the story, to the musical compositions, the conducting, the symphony, the acting, the singing, the set design and even the background visuals was superb. Bravo!
Very well crafted, worded, sung. And to have an event afterward with questions and answers about the subject matter was awesome.
