About

Underoath has been a seminal voice in progressive, heavy rock for almost two decades. When you look at the long list of bands that would be considered their contemporaries, very few can match Underoath when it comes to consistently pushing the envelope or the ability to evolve creatively without losing sight of what made them such a special band in the first place. This far into their storied career, the band has unsurprisingly faced their fair share of adversity. But through the trials and tribulations, a commitment to their craft and a sense of accountability rooted in mutual respect for each other has ensured that each new chapter for Underoath continues to shape their legacy in a positive fashion.

In 2020, as a global pandemic shook the foundation of the music industry, Underoath once again blazed a new path forward with their critically-acclaimed Observatory livestream. As interest in the digital consumption of live music seemed to be waning, the band breathed new life into the realm with a complete overhaul of the process – creating something equal parts intimate and monumental. It carried the weight of a sold out arena show translated through vessels consumable in fan’s living rooms. What made it all the more impactful was the fact that the entire initiative was dreamt up and brought to fruition largely by the band’s internal team. Thus, providing another shining reminder of the innovation that the six members on Underoath are capable of pulling together.

On the band’s 2018 Fearless Records debut, Erase Me, we saw a new side of Underoath. Having already established themselves both as melodic songwriters (2004’s RIAA-Certified Gold record They’re Only Chasing Safety) and as ambitious power merchants (2006’s gold-selling Define The Great Line and the majestic follow-up Lost In The Sound of Separation in 2008), the evolution detailed on Erase Me found Underoath using meticulously crafted sonic dialects that painted a vivid picture of how the band had grown artistically in the long layoff since their previous record.

With their shared history of remarkable accolades and trying hardships continuing to shape who the individual members are as people, Underoath is still just scratching the surface of what they can accomplish as a band. There are few acts in the annals of rock history that can say their best work is still ahead of them almost two decades into their career. Fortunately, Underoath falls into that category. As the world opens back up in 2021, the band is deeply committed to living up to the high expectations that fans (and themselves) have come to expect for anything associated with the project. It will undoubtedly be something special to witness as this next chapter in the Underoath story manifests.

    Epic Show!

by Anonymous on 12/2/09Masquerade - Atlanta

What can I say, if you know Underoath then you know the show was rocking. It was definitely one of the best shows I have been to of theirs, the crowd was excellent, and Oath was amazing, as always. If you missed it, I honestly feel bad for you.

Worth seeing the 1st 2 bands only

    by Hoff8706 on 12/2/09Crocodile Rock - Allentown

I have never heard Emery before this show and what I have found was yet they are on the softer side at times they overall are amazing musicians. They had great energy and switched singers, bassists out between the 5 of them showing that not only does this band have backbone, it has 5. August Burns Red.... What can I say that has not been spoken from the lips of masses already. They were amazing like always stage presence was phenom. This is the 4 time seeing them on the Constellations tour and it just keeps getting better. Only one request from ABR please play Indonesia at the Christmas show on Dec 29 at the Chameleon Club in Lancaster. And all you fans buy the ticket take the ride

    Underoath_ABR Played Well

    by r85drums on 12/2/09Crocodile Rock - Allentown

I only caught ABR and Underoath for this show but both bands played great with an immense amount of raw energy during their performances. What they both lacked in terms of perfection in their playing they made up for with performance of all the material and sifting through the most difficult transitions in their compositions. Only downer was the venue and visibility is limited in some areas. For being such a small venue little tough to swallow.

The show started off with Emery- my personal favorite. They came out singing "White Christmas," which was a special holiday treat. They put on a great show as always, although the electric guitar overshadowed the vocals. August Burns Red was next. Not a favorite of mine, as the songs are far too long, and the screaming is too much for me. Underoath was incredible, even though I haven't listened to them much before the concert. Their energy was fantastic, and they played a lot of instrumental stuff. They really made and effort to get the crowd involved, so much so that the bouncers couldn't contain the mosh pit!

    UO with ABR and Emery

by Beex on 12/1/09The Norva - Norfolk

Underoath has always been my favorite band. Their performance was one of the best I've seen from them so far. You can tell how passionate they are about music. Spencer, lead vocals, at one point was on the floor and I thought he had passed out. But no, they really get into their music and love what they do. August Burns Red is one of the best bands I've seen live. They have a great stage presence and really know how to get the crowd going. I don't really listen to Emery, but I enjoyed their performance as well, though I wasn't able to fully see the stage while they were on. I would definitely recommend seeing any of these bands, it's worth the money you spend for it.

    August Burns Red killed it....

by jusjerinhpt on 12/1/09The Norva - Norfolk

Great show. I was up front for Emery and August Burns Red, then went upstairs for Underoath as I haven't heard many of their songs. Overall the concert was great, and I rocked out harder than I have in a while when ABR was on stage....

    Underoath

by Bakescakes on 11/27/09The Ritz Ybor - Ybor City

The facilities were good and they had some food vending. There is a pizza place right across the street with a take out window so that helps while everyone is standing in line. The sound was good and there was good security. I am writing as the 50 year old father of a son whom I went with. I did not really understand the music but at least I was able to sit in the balcony and experience the scene as my son wanted me to do.

    Underoath's show

by Anonymous on 11/27/09The Ritz Ybor - Ybor City

If you went there mainly to see Underoath you would have been disapointed because although they preformed well their show lost some of the energy they started out with and finished with. Emery and August Burns Red preformed very nicely with no gaps in the set.

    Simply EPIC!

by tampamusikmadchen on 11/26/09The Ritz Ybor - Ybor City

I've been to a lot of concerts, and Underoath's performance has topped them all! High Energy and great music. The other bands, Emery and August Burns Red, also did a terrific job. I wish Emery would have played longer because they are pretty killer. When you leave a concert drenched in sweat, and without a voice... you know it was an epic show!

    Amazing, definitely worth it

by 99andInsanity on 11/26/09The Ritz Ybor - Ybor City

This concert was stunning. The first band was eh, but what can you say about a supporting band thats not even listed on the local advertisement posters? Then came Emery, a band i'm not too fond of but they were surprisingly good. Next came the real reason I was there: AUGUST BURNS RED. They were, without a doubt, one of, if not the best band I've seen live. Their performance was amazing and the energy in the room could be felt in every mosh pit, crowd surf, and fist pump. Lastly came Underoath, another great band yet I still ranked them lower than ABR. However, they easily put on a spectacular show, and the crowd was really into it and it was an all around amazing experience. If your into this music, DEFINITELY see these bands live.

This is the second time I've seen Underoath at this venue and they seem to always put on a good show (third time I've seen them overall).

    UnderOATH always delivers

Outstanding performance by UnderOATH as always. the location could have been a tad more space friendly, but oh well. Emery and August Burns Red also played and delivered great performances.

    Ehh...

by HOOKSTER1231 on 11/25/09Revolution Live - Ft Lauderdale

I dont know if my hopes were too high or what but i was LET DOWN by their live show. I have seen many bands at Revolution like stone sour, chiodos, the devil wears prada, all much better sounding than underoath was last night. Emery was great beforehand, and even august burns red sounded better if not with a mediocre mix. This show in the end was just a big /sigh

    Waste of time and money

by Anonymous on 11/25/09Revolution Live - Ft Lauderdale

I found myself yawning about 15 minutes into the underoath's performance because every one of their songs sounds the same while being rather boring to begin with. By far the worst concert I've ever been to i could only recommended seeing one of their shows if you happen to be a die hard fan. The two bands that opened the show were slightly better though August Burns Red was the only mildly enjoyable part. I will never go to any show ever again that underoath is a part of and I wish I could get my money back
