Exciting game and FANTASTIC half-time and post game band performances!!
After an beautiful tribute to George Parks, the UMASS vs Richmond game was the way to end the day! Even tho UMASS lost by 1 point, (and I am NOT a football fan) it was awesome to see the team play and then watch/listen to the Marching Band... especially when the 925 alumni members joined them on the field! I am very happy to have taken part in such a memorable day!
Great and exciting game...even though my team lost
What a great game to see for the first time at UMass as an incoming parent. Our doubts of a football winning season were dutifully crushed in the last minutes of an exciting back and forth game well played by our new school's team, The Minutemen! We had to leave a bit early but found the WRNX Radio station 100.9 FM to catch the exciting end! Way to go UMass, Minutemen! Take it all the way and have a great season...!
I think we played well. I also think the referees made some bad calls that hurt us. Also I dont know what the player was thinking that was close to the end zone and decided to throw the ball instead of just run it in. But overall the game was good and the band like usual was amazing. I had a blast and would defiantly attend another game.
Awesome game, Minutemen held Northeastern pointless until the end of the third quarter. Halftime show and post-game show by the marching band and colorguard was unbelievable, such talent. Looking forward to going to another game. Go UMass!!!!!
Great homecoming for Umass! What a game, Umass upsets undefeated UNH. If you can get out to Amherst Mass. in October your in for a treat. The foliage and mountain views are beautiful. A terrific game and spectacular weather made for great family day.
Didn't actually get to go, my son was sick. I did listen on the radio and what an exciting game. Go U!!!!
UMASS vs. UNH was a great way to continue homecoming weekend. The crowds were very full and the UMASS fans were loud and cheerful as always. The game flip-flopped scores many times. UNH's passing game was dominant towards the beginning of the game, and UMASS was able to scrap up first downs with the running game and an occasional pass. After a long battle UMASS won 23-17. UNH was on the 20 yard line with 3 seconds left going for the win and was intercepted to end the game.
UMass beat UNH, 23-17, and it was down to the last play with 3 seconds left. Great game
Game against stony brook. Good game, nice place to watch one. Highly recommended
We went in part to see band day, but our tickets were on the visiting team side. The band faced the home team side and the sound was all distorted. If you want to enjoy the "Pride and class of NE", be sure to buy tickets on the home team side. If we had realized we were on the other side we would not have bought these tickets.
I only stayed until the half because we had to be at a birthday party that night. However, it was much more exciting than I expected. The score was close until after the half and the venue was packed, partly thanks to BAND DAY and Family weekend at UMASS. My son and his friend had a great time. I wasn't expecting such audience enthusiasm from a D1-A school, but it was great. The cheerleaders really got the crowd going and the band was amazing...lots of spirit in addition to the actual game. UMASS does a great job!
The football game was exciting, the seats were great, the food was wonderful. None of these compared to the show put on by the UMass Minuteman Marching Band and the bands of countless New England high schools. The students arrive on campus just a few hours before the performance, and the magic of George Parks and Tom Hannum transforms hundreds on musicians into one band that completely covers the field at Warren McGuirk Alumni Stadium. The rich colors and music are a treat for all the senses. This is an annual event not to be missed.
