It’s awesome to watch the top Texas schools coming together and leaving all on the field. These kids practice all year for this event and I applaud their outstanding performances and their hard work. Much love for all the parents that help support our youth.
I like having the event at the Alamodome. I think parking should allow you to come and go or included in ticket pricing.

On the edge of my seat the entire time…watching those kids preform their hearts out was amazing!! Everyone was a winner just to get the opportunity to walk and preform in the Dome….thank you high school bands for that amazing experience!!
From the beginning to the end on the edge of my seat watching all those kids put their hard work into amazing showman ship!! Great opportunity for each one whether they made it to finals or first time there!! Love every minute of the UIL Marching experience!!
There were major issues this year with parking at the Alamodome. We arrived for our event a little after 1pm (finals scheduled to begin at 2pm). The parking lots were all closed. We could visibly see the lots were not full to capacity. We drove around looking for parking at local lots and ended up paying more to park in a field a mile away and walk to the dome. As we were walking up, the lots were being opened so that cars could EXIT the lots. It appeared that there was an event before ours that was scheduled too closely to allow for proper flow in and out of the lots. As this is an annual event, and considering how much is paid for ticketing and parking, UIL/Alamodome/staff should be well versed in managing these issues. BOA certainly does not have these issues and they use the same venue only days before.
These kids are fantastic. Their determination and work ethic and incredible talent are amazing to watch. The shows are breathtaking. I enjoyed every minute of the shows I got to see. UIL needs to do better after breaking of ranks when 4000 kids are leaving finals and scores of new bands and all the trucks are pouring in. One guy with a phone light is not enough to control the crossing at that entrance. Our school helped him this year but UIL needs to do better to protect the kids for that 30 critical minutes as them all leave the stadium.
The event itself was run smoothly. The parking staff was friendly as they charged $15 for parking. The security lady was awful- it’s son inconsistent. The day prior I brought a snack and bottle of water with no issues- the next day they made me throw it away. The concession people were so nice and apologetic that they had to charge so much. I bought a can a Pepsi for $5.50. That is ridiculous. Water was $6. A small bag of popcorn was $8. So overpriced. The mark up is criminal. Do better Alamodome.
I spent two days at the UIL 6A preliminary are finals competition for State Marching Band. The first event was a better experience. Getting in and out of the stadium was easy. The restrooms were constantly cleaned. The second event is as not great. There was zero time left between two events that day. When I arrived the parking lots were full and closed to entry. Entering the stands was difficult as the crowd from the first event was still inside. The building had not been cleared. It had also not been cleaned. A spilled soda under my seat got all over my belongings. The restroom was out of paper and soap. Concessions was out of ketchup. If the building had been cleared it could have been made ready to welcome us.
The cost is too high and is definitely keeping families from being able to attend and support their children. That sucks.
I never received follow through HP on either a refund or help in Selling two out of my five tickets. The SELL BUTTON/ OPTION was not available and grayed out for our event. My tickets were $46 each after fees & taxes. Very disappointed in the lack of assistance. Not to mention the prices for water was $6 a bottle, food was either cold or dried out and over priced!!!
The event itself was great. But concessions were way too expensive. Also, this was a band competition and when people who had the combo ticket for prelims and finals came back for finals, some of them were given a hard time. Even had to show ID for some reason even though they had the tickets. I personally didn’t have this problem but I also didn’t like only having my ticket on my phone. What if I lost my phone, etc. I would have liked to have a hard copy. I know it was to prevent counterfeit tickets, but still.
Next year make sure parking is available at the venue. What a disaster this year. Good thing we only have 1 year left doing this event.
The performances were amazing and for the Alamodome itself just outstanding love the space inside.
Everything was great, except the Consepción they should open more than one Consepción there is a lot people for just one open Consepción. Other than that everything was great!
The UIL State Marching event features the best of the best marching bands in the State of Texas. It is an amazing event seeing all of the creativity and incredible sounds for each of these shows. The event is a culmination of long hours of practicing from summer up until UIL qualifications. Regarding ticketmaster experience: I purchased the combo ticket (Day 1 Preliminary & Day 2 Finals). Day 1 tickets were able to be accessed without issue. However, Day 2 tickets were not available to accessed until about 1 hour prior to the event starting. I wish there had been an email or some sort of notification letting me know when they would be available to view as it caused a bit of panic that I might not be able to gain access to it prior to the event starting.
TX 4A HS state championship band competition was fabulous with half the Alamadome filled with excited band family and friends. It was one of the best days ever culminating in our Argyle HS band, who our senior snare drummer is a member of, winning 🥇 gold first place.
The vans were amazing, the presentation was great. I had just forgotten how horrible the Alamodome is. No matter where we sat they were fruit flies flying all around us. Even for a crowd maybe 10% of the stadium bathrooms were an issue. And quite frankly I was scared to eat any of the food

Stadium located near tourist center of River walk. Plenty of good hotels nearby. Felt safe around and inside the Alamodome Stadium. Clean environment with very good sound and clear overheads screen. The organizer did a great job. Thanks for the fantastic experience.
