About

TYRONE WELLS IN CONCERT:

Folk pop crooner Tyrone Wells has made a name for himself with his heart-rending voice, tender lyrics, and passionate live performances. A video of Wells singing "Beautiful Girl, Beautiful World" to his newborn daughter went viral in 2014, and the same sense of wonder that comes over baby Aria in the video can be experienced at his exhilarating live shows. In concert Wells keeps it simple, serenading fans with little more than an acoustic guitar and his warm, evocative voice. From the deeply moving "Time of Our Lives" to the life-affirming "Happy as the Sun", Wells' spiritually satisfying tunes and sincere live performances always leave fans feeling uplifted.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Tyrone Wells was born to a musical family in Spokane, WA, but he didn't begin writing songs until he moved to Southern California to attend Hope International University. He began performing in the mid-'90s as the singer of Sinai (later renamed Skypark), a Christian band that received a Dove Award nomination in 1998 for their album Am I Pretty? In 2000 Wells launched his solo career with a series of acoustic shows in Orange County, and in 2001 he released his self-titled debut album. A string of well-received records followed, but it was 2009's Remain LP that really put him on the map when it peaked at No. 17 on Billboard's Heatseekers Albums chart. He followed up in 2010 with the EP Metal & Wood, an auspicious collection of songs that spent several weeks at No. 1 on the iTunes Singer/Songwriter Chart. His 2012 album This Love fared similarly, reaching No. 2 on the iTunes chart and cracking the Top 20 of the Heatseekers chart. With his highly anticipated album Roll With It generating buzz in 2015, Wells has fans eager to experience his intimate acoustic sets in the flesh.

    Tyrone Rocks the House

by RyanTaylor on 10/21/09House of Blues Houston - Houston

Tyrone Wells is the epitome of everything you would expect from a singer songwriter and then everything you wouldn't expect, but in the most inviting and intriguing way. He and his band capture the audience whether its 50 or 500. The entire band stayed after the show and we got to chat with the band members and they are all really cool, laid back guys! I look forward to more Tyrone Wells appearances in Houston.

Tyrone Wells and The Myriad and Matt Hires

by TAOD on 10/19/09The Social - Orlando

Both bands were amazing. We met all the artists after the show and they took the time to have genuine conversations with their fans. The music and venue were just fantastic.

    amazing

by Anonymous on 10/18/09Birdys - Indianapolis

I had a blast at this concert! His music sounded just different enough from his CD's to make the concert sound new and exciting. Plus I got to meet him after the concert and was really genuine and appreciative to me and all the other fans who stayed late. I'd see him again and again!

Tyrone yodels.... and it is amazing!

by Anonymous on 10/16/09Birdys - Indianapolis

Tyrone was so amazing the first time around that I had to go see him again.... and I was not disappointed. He is not only a great singer/songwriter, he is a genuine person with a desire to lift everybody up. He makes conversation with the crowd, mixes in fun covers (like Cindy Lauper, Bon Jovi, and Kings of Leon), and looks like he's having a darn good time doing it all. Oh yeah, and he yodels. Very cool.

    Never heard him--instant fan!

by Muggin on 10/13/09The Intersection - Grand Rapids

I had never heard this guy before, but some friends asked me if I wanted to go so I did. Usually it is tough going to a concert where you don't know the artist, but this was not the case. Tyrone is an extremely talented individual and a great entertainer. The setting was nice and he was awesome.

    As usual, amazing show!

by Bruzzeseangel on 10/12/09Hard Rock Cafe - Pittsburgh

Tyrone Wells has one of the most amazing voices I've ever heard. Often times when you hear an artist live they just don't live up to how their CD sounds, but this is one guy that sounds BETTER live. Not only this, but he's an awesome "performer". He jokes with the audience and tells great stories, while really engaging everyone in the room.

    Soul Rocking Experience

by Tallieterp on 10/10/09Hard Rock Cafe - Pittsburgh

Tyrone Wells put on an absolutely amazing show. His dialogue with the crowd in between sets was witty and entertaining and the music was great. A mix of old, current and unreleased music was played and we even got a treat to hear him yodel, yes yodel. Acoustic and full band filled over an hour and a half. One of the best parts. Tyrone Wells took the time at the end of show to talk to anyone who wanted a picture, autograph or just to give feedback on the show. I took my best friend to the show who had never heard his music before and when we left she told him that he very well might be her new favorite artist. Best part, when talking to Wells after the show he was so down to earth that he gave me a high five for bringing someone who had never heard his music before, those types of musical artists seem rare these days.

by Bai534 on 10/5/09RED ROOM AT CAFÉ 939 - Boston

He is just so talented! If I had to put money down on any upcoming artist, this is the guy. His concert was well planned, and so enjoyable.

    Encore was great!

by Rumo on 10/5/09RED ROOM AT CAFÉ 939 - Boston

Tyrone and his band were excellent. The singing and music was really good. Even though I was not familiar with the songs, I enjoyed them nonetheless. The sound was good, too. Not too loud or too low. It was really neat the way he ended some of his songs. I'm glad I chose to go.

    Powerful Performance

by ReachingHigher4 on 10/4/09RED ROOM AT CAFÉ 939 - Boston

I was and am so spiritually lifted by the lyrics and the powerful performance. I feel Tyrone and the band (love you all) carry a strong message and I am so grateful I heard their music about 2 months ago. It has helped me in many ways. I live in Lowell, MA and we have a few venues here, Tsongas Arena and The Lowell Auditorium. I am hoping to see them here soon. I know they are just beginning their journey and I am sure they will go far.

    Tyrone double header

by TheRealMikeB on 10/3/09RED ROOM AT CAFÉ 939 - Boston

Tyrone and band were great! Acoustic early show was a little short, but well-played. The late show didn't need tow openers, neither of whom shone. Again, Tyrone and band were excellent for the last set. Venue lacked seating and room - for the sold out (200 tickets) late show it was shoulder-to-shoulder. The venue's food stops being made at 6, so coming for a double show with an hour break - you woudl think they'd make food, but no such luck.

    Never a Dull Moment

by Deliham on 10/3/09RED ROOM AT CAFÉ 939 - Boston

Tyrone Wells really engaged the crowd and he never disappointed. During some of his quieter songs, the crowd was silent, simply absorbed in the music.

    A night to never forget!!

by mlschmidt on 9/18/09Varsity Theater - Minneapolis

This was an amazing show! Tyrone Wells has an incredible voice and he is not afraid to show it off even when not using a microphone. He even did a few covers which was fun for the audience members who do not know all of his songs (unlike me!). I would highly recommend that people see him while on this tour!!! I hope to get to see him again very soon!
