About

Two Feet In Concert

Good luck trying to categorize multi-instrumentalist Bill Dess, who records evocative music under the moniker Two Feet. In a reflection of his diverse tastes—the Harlem-raised artist grew up on hip-hop, pop, and jazz, as well as film score composers such as Ennio Morricone—his music is a rich tapestry of eras, influences, and moods. Bluesy guitar licks might collide with trap beats and sinewy synths on one song; on another, sparse arrangements and jazz-inflected rhythms serve as a backdrop for soulful, sighing vocals.

Perhaps even more impressive, Dess is the architect of these intriguing sounds. As a young student, he played upright bass in the school orchestra and practiced guitar for hours a day, which helped him develop a fluid, blues-inspired style. Eventually, Dess started making beats for friends while also crafting his own tunes. In 2016, he uploaded the jazzy electro-blues song "Go F*ck Yourself" to his SoundCloud account—and watched as it racked up more than 8 million streams within a few days.

Dess harnessed this momentum with his debut Two Feet EP, ‘First Steps,' and an equally mesmerizing follow-up EP, 2017's ‘Momentum.' Although these tunes drew favorable comparisons to Chet Faker and Glass Animals, Dess is working tirelessly to carve out a unique niche for himself. That's most obvious during Two Feet's performances; the musician approaches these concerts as if he were a solo singer-songwriter, strapping on a guitar and adding live licks over his beat-heavy electronic backdrops.

This commitment to authentic sounds and emotions has paid off. In 2018, the single "I Feel Like I'm Drowning," a wrenching blues-soul song about feeling trapped in a relationship with an unpleasant person, peaked at No. 1 on Billboard's Alternative Songs chart. Two Feet followed that up by landing an opening slot on the North American leg of Panic! At the Disco's 2019 Pray for the Wicked tour, stopping at venues like Theatre of Living Arts in Philadelphia.

    Amazing artist

by Deez Nutz on 11/20/22The Van Buren - Phoenix

Two Feet is amazingly talented and it shows when he's onstage. There was a lot of baby making in the crowd because of Two Feet and his talent. He really knows how to get a girl going. 10/10 would recommend.

    Show vibes were awesome

by Drea on 11/20/22The Van Buren - Phoenix

The show started on time or at least pretty close to. The opening act and Two Feet had the crowd fully in it and ready to dance all night. Staff at Van Buren were great, the line in was efficient and getting drinks at the bar was fast.

    Good while it lasted

by FH on 11/20/22The Van Buren - Phoenix

We waited months for this concert, then it got delayed and pushed back one more month on the day of the show. We finally saw them and the show was only an hour long :/ it was way to short.

Venue was better than the concert.

by Sunshineabby on 10/23/22The Echo Lounge & Music Hall - Dallas

The opener Brothel was okay. Two feet could have been better. I was hoping he would be even better in person but not so, his vocals were hard to distinguish. The surprise for us was how well he can play the guitar, we had no idea! Perhaps the bar was set too high. I had just seen Missio in concert in Austin in a club setting and those guys were phenomenal! So engaging with the audience. Even the opening acts were good. The crowd was amazing at that concert too. I will skip Two Feet next time. At least the tickets weren’t crazy expensive for GA.

    Amazing band but….

by Winka on 10/7/22The Danforth Music Hall - Toronto

By the time I learned about the sale, it was almost sold out and I couldn’t get general admission tickets… so I settled for upstairs in the seated area. I felt lucky enough to get a seat but it was row NN seat 1… I couldn’t see a thing whether standing up or sitting down. Not happy until I stood and asked one of the employees if there were any other available seats. There were and the employee totally made my day. The opening artist didnt excite the crowd at all. I felt like everyone was bored. Now when the actual band came out, it was wild! My only critique is they didn’t play some of my favourite songs: adhd, devil, etc… Guess i will have to come back to see them next time theyre in town and always grab a general admission ticket… Otherwise A+ for the band, they were phenomenal!

Truly the best concert I've ever been to

by Sara N on 10/7/22The Danforth Music Hall - Toronto

The intimate venue, the incredible audio and lighting, but most of all the talent of twofeet was UNREAL. He's great on Spotify but the sound in person is 3x greater.

    Two Feet at the Danforth

by Rick on 10/7/22The Danforth Music Hall - Toronto

Two Feet is one of my favourite bands right now, with many of their songs on my playlist, so when I heard they were coming to Toronto we had go. Four of us drove 3 1/2 hours to see them live and I have to say we were all a little disappointed. To start their opening act’s music is an acquired taste with an in your face light show that actually made two of us to leave the building and made one of literally feeling sick. After that act I was very much hoping that Two Feet didn’t have the same in your face light show so we could enjoy their great music. When they came out it was more disappointment with the same lights that made all of us uncomfortable. It would have been nice to watch the band play but it was almost impossible to even see them on stage for most of the concert. The concert should have been about the music, it so good and doesn’t need anything else. I guess they felt they had to do more because they were playing live. The music got a little off track as well with too many extra riff’s, unnecessarily trying to impress everyone with guitar skills. Nice to change it up a bit for a live performance, but it was too much. I will continue to be a fan but I hope you can create a more tasteful light show so we can relax and enjoy the great music you’ve created next time we see you live.

    Bullied in plain sight

    by C & T on 9/21/22The Wiltern - Los Angeles

Purchased GA tickets that allowed access to the lower (closer to stage) and mid pit areas at the Wiltern to see Two Feet. The energy was low so we went down to the lower pit to dance. We were told we “didn’t belong” and to “get the fuck out of here”. We were shoved and we were both kicked in the shins and the ankles. On purpose. Hard until we bruised. We stood our ground. We paid for the same tickets and belonged just as much as anyone else in that crowd. Music should be what binds us and brings us together. Heartbroken at this crowd that somehow felt so entitled that they made us physically unwelcome and felt the need to tell us we were unworthy. Shame on you.

    Two feet was too short

by D on 9/20/22The Wiltern - Los Angeles

The artist was only on for an hour. We bought the most expensive tickets and when we went to the floor for the end of his set they wouldn't let us in saying it was limited to the first 200 people, even though there were only about 60 people left on the floor. Definitely a rip off for what we paid. Not the best managed event.

    Started Super Late

by Mike on 9/20/22The Wiltern - Los Angeles

Concert was scheduled from 9-10:30 but Two Feet didn’t go on until 11. Sat through an hour long DJ set from 10-11 (although it was really good). Getting to the venue at 8 pm to line up and waiting that long for the concert to actually start had fans standing for nearly 4-5 hours.

    Better than expected

by Eric on 9/19/22Ace of Spades - Sacramento

Two Feet performance was awesome, the venue was bit uncomfortable due to being sold out. I'd go see Two feet again just at a different location.
