About

Troy Hawke is an erudite home-schooled 1930s throwback... the Errol Flynn of the high street. Educated, sophisticated, but utterly clueless. He tackles modern issues head on in his uniquely untimely manner.

The latest show from Troy, Troy Hawke: Sigmund Troy'd, won Best Show at the Leicester Comedy Festival Awards 2022 and was one of the winners of Soho Playhouse International Fringe Encore Series in 2022.

He has twice been nominated for the Amused Moose Best Edinburgh Show award and was listed as GQ's Top Ten Comedy Shows at the festival.

  • Astonishingly Funny

by Dan from DC on 4/18/25Gramercy Theatre - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5

Troy Hawke is astonishingly funny and unlike any other comedian I’ve ever seen. Amazingly quick on his feet, he maintains a coherent and exceptionally idiosyncratic narrative, peppered with charming and often hilarious asides. Also amazing is his energy, which never seems to flag. In an era when most comedians rely on the frequent use of profanity or sexually explicit content, Troy rarely says anything that could be placed in either of those categories. His humor is derived from his genius: an astonishing command of the English language and remarkable powers of observation when it comes to the people whose paths he crosses. I made a special effort to see him on stage. I expected to enjoy myself, but his talent and unique act greatly exceeded my expectations. Bravo!

  • Masterful

by Head the Ball on 4/10/25Gramercy Theatre - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5

In the great comic tradition of Paul Reubens, Andy Kauffman and Chaplin, Troy Hawke is a fully realized comic persona that soars in the rare air of unrelenting positivity whilst also being tears down your cheeks funny.

  • Hilarious, brilliant & refreshing

by Social Butterfly 🦋 on 5/3/24Cobb's Comedy Club - San FranciscoRating: 5 out of 5

Troy Hawke is like no other comedian. His show is built on stories from his life that build on each other, interweave and finally crescendo in an account of his (mis)adventures in “non-consensual customer service” that had me laughing so hard I almost peed my pants. His wit relies not on landing one-liners, but on hilariously observed social commentary, drawn chiefly from his interactions with strangers. What makes his show more than just comedy is that the goal of his interactions is not only to garner laughs - usually via spontaneous compliments built on hilarious analogies— but to break through the walls that people put up in public, and achieve a moment of genuine connection between strangers, however brief. In our increasingly distracted & divided society, such moments feel like the opposite of trivial. Come prepared (with an empty bladder 😉) to have your sides split & your heart warmed.

  • Absolutely Smashing Show

by Kimberly in SF on 5/3/24Cobb's Comedy Club - San FranciscoRating: 5 out of 5

Cobb's Comedy Club in SF is a great venue with (surprise) delicious food and a great selection of bevvies, and not a bad seat in the house. What a delight to see Troy Hawke there--a full house got to enjoy him at his charming best!! He did a great job and even included a few video clips to keep us rolling with laughter. We will see him anytime he's in town--and suggest you do likewise.

  • Troy totally smashed it

by Querida on 5/3/24Cobb's Comedy Club - San FranciscoRating: 5 out of 5

In my humble opinion I think Troy is one of the best comedians I've seen in a very long time. He's smart, witty, uplifting - and his spontaneous quips off pat prooves he is the real thing. I can't wait to see him again.

  • Cried all night long

by Steve (an 8) on 5/3/24Cobb's Comedy Club - San FranciscoRating: 5 out of 5

I was not sure how Troy would translate to a stand up so but I don’t think I have ever laughed so much. Fantastic night out and such a gent to stay behind and do selfies with everyone who wanted one. Legend. So so funny. Highly recommend. Now shoulders back, I am off to smash the day.
