Trisha Yearwood has one of the biggest voices in country music, but an undeniable part of her appeal has always been the gal-next-door quality that comes through in both her vocal delivery and stage presence. A Georgia girl by birth, Trisha Yearwood followed her passion for country music to Nashville in the mid 1980s. When she was first getting started in the business she crossed paths with another young hopeful named Garth Brooks, and a mutual admiration society was soon born. Brooks broke through first and then gave Yearwood a helping hand with kick-starting her career. She released her first album in 1991 and found success straight out of the gate with her No. 1 country single "She's in Love With the Boy." A dizzyingly long string of hit albums and singles followed in the years to come, establishing Yearwood as one of the key voices in '90s country music. As for that Brooks guy, after both he and Yearwood had been through divorces, they eventually tied the knot, becoming a mighty Nashville power couple, and partnering on record and onstage as well as in their private lives.
