TRIBAL SEEDS IN CONCERT:
SoCal reggae rockers Tribal Seeds have shared the stage with some of the genre's biggest names on their journey from local heroes to nationally acclaimed headline act. Taking the stage with a surplus of good vibes, the band never fails to leave fans feeling irie at their live shows, putting songs like "Love Psalm" into practice with feel-good performances that span their catalog. With fifth album Representing all set to drop, the band will treat fans to another round of vibed-out shows on the Representing Spring Tour 2014.
BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:
Brothers Steven Jacobo and Tony-Ray Jacobo formed Tribal Seeds in the mid-'00s, making their self-titled album debut in 2008 to a spot on iTunes Best Reggae Albums list. 2009 follow-up The Harvest was a similar success, making its way to No. 5 on the Billboard Reggae Albums chart and setting the stage for extensive touring. The band's spiritual lyrics and positive message were a hit on the road, leading to appearances alongside giants of the genre including the Wailers, Stephen Marley, and Rebelution. In 2011, their EP Soundwaves peaked at No. 2 on the Billboard Reggae Charts, paving the way for the band's continued touring and a highly anticipated fifth album due out in 2014.
FANS WHO BOUGHT TICKETS SAY:
"Tribal Seeds puts on a great show, esp. with 'Vampire' and 'Run The Show' at the end. Awesome from start to finish--these guys are real music, unique sound and great songwriting. Total pros in performance."
"Tribal Seeds killed it! Amazing live show! Will def attend again if they come back to our area! It was AWESOME!"
"Tribal Seeds was incredible. They did a great job, as always. They were fun, interacted with the crowd, and overall really nice guys."
Music was great as expected. There should be no chairs up front though. It should be a pit. Also Groundation should've had a better timeslot.
There were some good bands, but the way the bands were lined up was terrible! Whoever thought to put the Original Wailers on FIRST needs to be fired. No one even knew who the second band was (Trevor Hall?) and he definitely should have been the opening act. My second reason for the low rating was because we paid more for front row seats, only to find out that you were not allowed to drink in that area! Why on earth would anyone think it's a good idea for people to pay more for good seats, and then make them leave those seats to have to go to the beer tent to drink?? I think we spend more time at the beer tent than in our seats. I definitely would have rated this event with more stars if it wasn't for these issues.
Small venue. Don’t really want the secret to get out
This concert was insanely good. Tribal Seeds sounded amazing and I want to see them again soon. Riverside put on a good show. Good people Good Vibe. Would do it again in a heartbeat
The show was fun, but we couldn’t hear the vocals very well. I would have loved more interaction from the band with the crowd
First live reggae concert. Just glad it was with my favorite band
Tribal Seeds never fails to bring the chill vibes. The beats and melodies touch my soul and carry me away to a sacred place. Seeing them live just enhances that experience. Definitely go see these guys later very.
Seen them a few times, vocals are always hard to hear, wish he would sing louder
Out of all the new reggae coming out of the US, Tribal Seeds is that bridge to the old school reggae greats like Steel Pulse, Burning Spear, etc. Their style is unique in the sense that they don't sound like most of the american reggae bands, instead seem to stick to their own sound. Great live band, sound is very powerful.
The sound was fantastic and drinks well priced and stiff!!!! I will definitely go back
I am a big fan of Tribal Seeds. I've seen them several times and the party is good each and every time. Took some friends as well that has never seen them. Everyone had a real good time!
Solid band and great sound. Good times all around.
Love for life! What an incredible night... the show was a steal at that price!
Always great seeing these guys, they never disappoint!
Tribal Seed was awesome. The best of the reggae bands we've seen in years. My wife who is Jamaican loved them and their sound. She was groovin all night!!!
New members of the band are moving away from reggae sound to something more aligned with bad pop music. In the middle of the set, new guy did a 10 minute song...sounded like American Idol. Also, whoever was running the sound board didnt know what he was doing...sound was uneven most of the night. Really disappointing.
This was about my fifth time seeing them live, second time at Seacrets in OCMD. The energy that this group of dudes has is amazing. They all kill it. I highly recommend seeing them live if you haven't already. There is never a dull moment when they're on stage. Rock on my brothers.
Awesome show, all the bands were great but Tribal Seeds were fantastic. The venue was great as well.
Tribal Seeds was the tale of two shows....the first half was awesome....great set, band sounded tight. During the middle of the show, the band allowed 3 members to play their own tune and most weren't any good...totally lost the momentum of the show. After the three tunes, while there were some good moments, the band never got back the momentum back. Too bad, could have been really great. Tribal Seeds needs to stick to roots...
The whole line up was great and venue was alot of fun, would do it a thousand times
