About

Tracy Morgan is one of the most well-respected comedians and actors in his field. Known for starring on seven seasons of NBC's Emmy and Golden Globe Award-winning 30 Rock, Morgan appeared opposite Tina Fey and Alec Baldwin as "Tracy Jordan," the unpredictable star of "Liz Lemon's" (Fey) hit variety show, TGS with Tracy Jordan. Morgan received an Emmy Nomination in the Supporting Actor category for his work on the show and was nominated multiple years for the Supporting Actor NAACP Image Award. The cast of the show also won the Screen Actors Guild Award for best Ensemble in a Comedy Series before the beloved series came to an end in January 2013. He was most recently seen on his No Disrespect nationwide stand up tour and will have new shows in 2023.

Morgan can be seen in four seasons of TBS' The Last OG, which he also executive produced and starred. He can be seen in Amazon's Coming 2 America alongside Eddie Murphy, Arsenio Hall and Jermaine Fowler, which was released in March 2021. He also appeared in Warner Brothers Scoob!, Paramount's What Men Want, opposite Taraji P. Henson, and voiced the role of "Fox" in Netflix's 2019 series Green Eggs & Ham. Morgan's stand up special Staying Alive was released globally on Netflix in May 2017. Prior, he received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in the 2016 class. Morgan was also nominated for an Emmy for Outstanding Guest Actor in a Comedy Series in 2016 for hosting an episode of the legendary Saturday Night Live.

In 2014, Morgan released a standup special for Comedy Central titled Tracy Morgan: Bona Fide, which brought the network one of its largest audiences for a standup special that year. Previously, his first stand up special, Black & Blue, was released on HBO in 2010. Another milestone for Morgan was reached in 2009 with the release of his first book, a compilation of studied anecdotes and some of the more serious moments that shaped him and his career, I Am the New Black.

Morgan has headlined across the country and abroad on various tours and festivals for his stand-up comedy. He was first introduced to television audiences in his role as "Hustle Man" on the hit comedy series Martin. He went on to join Saturday Night Live in 1996 where he appeared for seven seasons and created such memorable characters as "Astronaut Jones" and "Brian Fellows." After leaving SNL, Morgan went on to star in his own comedy series, The Tracy Morgan Show, and he voiced "Spoonie Luv" on Comedy Central's Crank Yankers. Additional film credits include Cop Out, the remake of the British film Death at a Funeral, First Sunday opposite Ice Cube and Katt Williams, The Longest Yard opposite Adam Sandler, Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back, Head of State, Son of No One, Why Stop Now and Fist Fight.

Morgan currently resides in New Jersey.

    Tracy Morgan was Fantastic!

by AC401 on 8/10/09Newport Yachting Center - Newport

The evening started with three great opening comedians who set the comedic tone for the evening. If you weren't sure what to expect, you knew what you would be in for within the first 2 minutes! It was certainly an adult-oriented comedy show so if you're sensitive to sex or race related material, I would not recommend it for you. Except for a few out of place people (a man with his 13-14 yr old son and a few elderly couples) most of the 18-40 crowd loved and related to Tracy's racy set, so much so that even a few audience members stood up and shouted in agreement. At one point Tracy even quipped something along the lines of "if you want to see the G rated Tracy turn to channel 4" when seeing the reactions of one of the very few shocked people in the crowd. Tracy’s set focused mainly on sex but covered everything from love and relationships to race relations and celebrities including Michael Jackson. (By the way, Tracy has a surprisingly great singing voice!) One could tell that Tracy was a stand-up pro when he stopped his set to deal with (and thoroughly embarrass) what seemed to be racist heckler and seamlessly continued on with his set without missing a beat. Overall, I highly recommend this show. Tracy Morgan is fantastic!

    Tracy Morgan - so hysterical

by nickybiz on 8/10/09Wilbur Theatre - Boston

He's a great actor...30 rock has made me love him. But I didn't know he was such a great comedian either. He was really funny and I was impressed by how long his performance was. Definitely two thumbs up!

raunchy, boring and not what I expected

by iamnolongerafan on 8/10/09Newport Yachting Center - Newport

Familiar with his tv roles, particularly Saturday Night Live, we were quite disappointed with the very limited tools of "humour" that Tracy Morgan employed. Good dirty humour is great...he was just down right crude and boring. Not clever at all and lacked any inventiveness at all. His three opening acts, however, were great...the third I missed because I had to run to the ladies' room...but my friends said he was the shortest act but the best.

    Major Disappointment

by NoLongerATracyFan on 8/10/09Newport Yachting Center - Newport

The best rating I could give it is "boring". Believe me I'm no prude, but an entire show based on sex/dirty talk is just plain boring. I expected something much more from Tracy. He's a brand name comic that should be able to deliver quality/creative comedic dialgoue. There was none of that. Five to ten minutes of the sex/dirty stuff would have been fine, but then move on to something else. Tracy started to do that with some political stuff and then I believe he was upended by a heckler who was eventually removed. Again, I would think someone of Tracy's status would have taken that in stride and moved on with his bit.

    Lots of Adult Content

by Cmdan on 8/10/09Newport Yachting Center - Newport

Very funny, lot of talk about sex, (actually too much) and a lot of obsenities. Not for anyone under the age of 18.

    Tracy and openers were great!

by rbizzle2 on 8/10/09Newport Yachting Center - Newport

Tracy was pretty reckless; most of his skit was about masturbating. He was really funny though... "I'm Tracy Morgan and I'm spicey!"

2hrs of my life I can't get back &he should pay me

by mfbs on 8/10/09Wilbur Theatre - Boston

What a complete waste of money!!! The show sucked. The opening guys were about 1,000 times funnier than Tracy Morgan, especially the heavy guy who came on second. Tracy was filthy, vulgar & could only talk about dirty sex, yeah I get it. I’m pretty young & easy going but he was disgusting & I was just bored!!! He’s not cleaver & or funny. Obviously I now know he owes everything to the writers of 30 Rock & SNL!! Save your Money & Don’t Go! People were leaving & I left early too. & I never leave shows early. & Tracy why do you repeat the punch line of a joke 4 times. Yeah maybe the 2nd time it is kind of entertaining but after that it is pathetic.

    some laughs, but more shocked

by shockvalue on 8/10/09Wilbur Theatre - Boston

i heard tracy morgan was raunchy... but i had no idea how raunchy he could be! we laughed, but more out of shock. he seemed angry and yelled at some guy in the audience for yelling out - maybe it was just part of the act... if you like really dirty sex humor and are not easily offended, go see him. if not, dont.

    Entertaining evening out

by Dan0 on 8/10/09Newport Yachting Center - Newport

Overall, the show was pretty good. The opening acts were really good, especially the guy who came on right before Tracy (sorry I can't remember his name). Tracy himself was pretty good, about what I expected. His material had some laugh out loud moments, but after a while he seemed to start to lose focus and ramble a bit. One of the highlights, though, was his bashing down on some stupid heckler in the middle of the show. Almost worth the price of admission to hear him beat that a-hole down.

    Filthy and disgusting

by Pandora2009 on 8/10/09Newport Yachting Center - Newport

Tracy Morgan has so much talent. Why does he need talk about sex acts to be funny. The whole show was about sex and it was very vulgar. I was disappointed with the whole act. The minimum age for this show should be 18 years old not 16. He'd be much funnier if he cleaned up his act.

    Morgan was terrible

by SBCC on 8/10/09Newport Yachting Center - Newport

The first 3 comedians that came before Tracy Morgan were very funny and made spending the money worth it. Tracy Morgan on the other hand was terrible. It seemed as though he was high when he came out. He could barely get a complete thought out. He only had one long running theme about sex in the butt. Got very old, very quickly. He needs alot more material. He wasn't getting many laughs. We had a group of 14 people and we all concurred that we would never see him again.

    could have been better

by nonegiven on 8/10/09Newport Yachting Center - Newport

Tracy harped on too many vulgar subjects. Granted I'm no saint, but there is a fine line between good comedy and spouting on and on about anal sex and making noises that are supposed to mimic sexual acts.

    Tracy was pretty funny!

by okyouaho on 8/10/09Wilbur Theatre - Boston

Openers were actually pretty funny. Tracy was definitely on. There was a 15 minute lull towards the end where he was going on a bit of a rant about everything from kids today to texting to women to war, etc.. No laughs at all during this period. All straight-faced commentary. I didn't mind, but found it a bit odd. He closed hard though recounting his first love with his crippled girlfriend. All in all, a good night of laughs.

    Tracy Morgan is Hilarious!!!!!!!!!!!

    by JJM1 on 8/9/09Wilbur Theatre - Boston

I loved the whole show, the openers were great and Tracy was funny as Hell as well as unpredictable . Everyone Should have been able to relate to the stories in his act. He is Amazing! I loved him in Little Man and First Sunday and my husband remembers him as "Hustle Man" from "Martin". Just looking at him I couldn't stop laughing. He has come along way and is definately great at what he does on screen and off. On another note I didn't enjoy the venue. My husband and I were looking forward to grabbing some food and drinks which were not available. I will probably rethink attending any late night events at the wibur theatre. If comedy is involved you should be able to eat, have a drink (even just beer) and laugh your head off. I hate beer but I wish I could have had the option if nothing else.

Tracy Morgan was not worth it

    by J0j0 on 8/9/09Wilbur Theatre - Boston

A show that was late to begin with - started 20 minutes late. He seemed as though he might have a cold. He was zero energy and was a little hard to hear as though he has a sore throat. He went on two very dirty bits for way too long. He just went on and on. Many people in the mezzinin left after the first hour and a half. BORING! The first opening comedian was a complete waste. Not funny at all.

    Tracy was over the top

by Joboy on 8/9/09Wilbur Theatre - Boston

Tracy Morgan was very talented...for our taste was a bit too raunchy but still hilarious...could have been a bit more organized with his material....well worth going.

    Disappointing

by CTcouple on 8/9/09Wilbur Theatre - Boston

The opening acts were pretty good, but Tracy Morgan did not have a full hour of comedy. The first half hour, forty five minutes were funny but instead of ending the show he wanted to babble about stuff. Its a comedy show...supposed to be funny the entire time.
