Allways the best time I have all year, every time they come to town.
The performance was great and we enjoyed every bit of it. The app (which was purported to make for a better experience) did not seem to add anything of value. It did keep sending text messages during the performance indicating something was "coming up", but as noted we didn;t see any relative benefit. In addition, the texts only served as distractions. My advice, enjoy the show!!!! Lose the app
Stunning production! Not sure how all those amazing effects were created!!!
Toruk First Flight is an amazing experience; a true feast for the eyes. It is different from many Cirque du Soleil shows in that it has more of a story line and perhaps less of the acrobatics they are known for. The costumes and sets are beyond gorgeous and truly evoke the beauty and grandeur of the moon Pandora. The story is a familiar one about two young Na'vi who set out on a quest to save the Tree of Souls and thus save Pandora from extinction. They are aided in their quest by the Toruk, a giant bird/dinosaur-like creature. The background music sets the tone for their thrilling adventures, and the lighting for the sets helps you envision the different parts of Pandora they visit on their quest. I highly recommend this show, especially for those who loved the movie Avatar.
This show is boring. There is a lot of running, jumping and more running. The actors were great, but this show has a weak storyline. The set was amazing, but if you have seen The Lion King, it comes off as a knock off. There was a moderator which was okay, because actors spoke in an Avatar language. I could tell there was a lot put work put into this show, but there is a disconnect somewhere. Again, just a lot of running, jumping and gymnastics by blue people. SAVE YOUR MONEY AND TIME. I was so disappointed I left at intermission!
Seemed like imitation of a cirque du Soleil show. Not up to their standards
I spent a lot of money for very good seats to take my wife for her birthday. I never thought to check reviews, as I have seen other Cirque productions, and they were awesome! I sure wish I had. My wife and I thought it was overall boring. Let me say why. First of all, the set was very complex and pretty impressive, but that's where it ends. Cirque de Soleil is usually characterized by jaw-dropping aerobatics and gymnastics. The acrobatics (very repetitive) in Toruk are not nearly to Cirques de Soleil standards. Most of it seems to be running around falling, and doing single flips, with a couple of doubles at far away end of the set, barely visible. And a lot (and I mean a lot) of curtain work which I've already seen on America's got talent many times. The story is extremely simple, but has to be described by a narrator, because the characters are speaking in a made-up Na'vi language (whoever had that idea?). Therefore there is no connection at all to the main characters. There is some singing by one female character, but it appeared to be lip-syncing. Bottom line, I wasted my money on a gift that fell flat. Sorry.
Story line difficult to follow but the stage was colorful with incredible effects. Thought there would be more acrobatics with it being Circ de Soliel.
Not only was the dance / gymnastics / acrobatics spectacular but the storyline, lighting, staging and props were MAGNIFICENT!!
For a traveling Cirque show it was great. Great show and resembles what you can see in Vegas. Good job.
They made the story so effortless , you forgot they are acrobats telling the story. The talent was tremendous and the scenery was spectacular! The technical was amazing. Truly was worth the money and my time..
This story is the beginning of the legend Toruk following the movie's story. It's a great way to tell a story for both young and old alike.
The colors, displays, and the actors were at their best. Did not want to miss any part of the show!
Awesome show. Very entertaining. Would definitely go see it again.
Great effects, good show, not your typical cirque du soleil.
I've seen several Cirque du Soliel shows, and all have been awesome, until this one. It was, in a word (OK, two words), utterly boring. It was just a bunch of young people in garish costumes running and jumping around, occasionally accompanied by flying puppets. Then, after a very long time, there was an intermission, followed by a lot more running and jumping around. There was absolutely nothing in the show that you couldn't teach a high-school gymnastics team to do in about an hour. Toruk is just a ludicrously-silly rip-off that takes advantage of and sullies the Cirque name. Stay far away and keep your hand on your wallet.
Production value was Cirque quality and new and different. However, the entertainment was not Cirque quality. Barely any acrobatics or real great "Cirque acts". If was more of a play with a great production.
This was an amazing show. The stunts were fantastic and my daughter has raved about the show for days!
Their graphics were so amazing in this play... I always love to go see cirque du soleil, one of my absolute favorites
Super show. The effects were phenomenal. I recommend to everyone
