TORO Y MOI IN CONCERT:
Chillwave producer extraordinaire Toro y Moi, aka Chazwick Bradley Bundick, transforms every venue he plays into a funky wonderland with his slick, dance-worthy productions. Whether he’s playing guitar or keyboards, Bundick's swirling effects and highly rhytmic productions envelope audiences in an immersive, undeniable groove. His gliding falsetto provides a boyish innocence to his earnestly crafted songs, and even though his lyrics cover personal topics like heartbreak and remorse, he keeps the vibe upbeat by anchoring each song in pumping beats and groove-heavy flourishes. Toro y Moi. On tour in support of his 2015 album What For?, Toro y Moi will bring his laid-back, dance-friendly brand of atmospheric electro-funk to fans across the country.
BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:
Chazwick Bradley Bundick was born in 1986 in Columbia, SC, where he formed the indie rock band The Heist and The Accomplice while in high school. After graduating from the University of South Carolina in 2009, he quickly signed to Carpark Records and released Toro y Moi’s 2010 debut album Causers of This. The immaculately produced record earned rave reviews and generated enough buzz to land him opening spots for in-demand artists like Caribou and Phoenix. The following year he released his sophomore album Underneath the Pine, a stellar release that showcased his commitment to live instrumentation. On his third album, 2013’s Anything in Return, Toro y Moi combined the sample-heavy approach of his first record with the live feel of his second effort, and the new direction paid off. The album represented a major breakthrough for him, earning massive praise and leading his first headlining tour and an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! Toro y Moi's 2015 album What For? and accompanying tour dates have fans excited to catch Bundick's funky rhythms and masterful sonic textures in concert.

Great experience visually and sonically. Once of my favorite concerts I’ve been to
So far my experiences at this venue for concerts have been nothing short of a great time. Channel Tres gave me so much life— I had to dance it out. Some call it having fun, some may call it therapy. Although it was a sold out show for Toro Y Moi, I didn’t feel how packed it really was because of how spacious the venue is. Thank you for choosing two world class musicians. I had such a fantastic time. Cheers to the next one at the Palladium!
Definitely my favorite Toro Y Moi show everrrrrr. He's alright, I'm alright, We're alright, We can't go back.
Dude Chaz is always amazing, although this may be completely biased bc him and I are secretly married (he just doesn’t know yet) his energy is there. For real
Such a fun show, played about a 1 hr 15 min set. Lots of variety over all of his albums. Definitely want to see him perform coming around LA again.
finally able to see my favorite artist live. waited so long. i absolutely loved it. it was perfect
All except the guy screaming "Chaz Bear" and "This is my song, bruh" (literally not figuratively at every other song) into the ether behind me, it was a great show. It was at The Fillmore so I did the adult thing and went upstairs to find a seat. My friend left early because anything with a large drunk crowd tends to overwhelm him so I sat by myself. It was fine. The Fillmore is pretty cozy and always puts on a good show. I haven't heard any mishaps with the sound system ever which is always a good sign.
Toro Y Moi does not disappoint! And the Neptune is a great venue, you can see the stage well from anywhere and they let us take our drinks from the bar right down to the stage.
Toro y Moi was great! It was my first time seeing him and I will definitely be seeing him the next time he comes around. Both of his Seattle shows were sold out. The venue (The Neptune) is perfect for live shows with great acoustics.
What a wonderfully talented group that’s so funky and groovy ! We loved it
All the openers were amazing, venue was beautiful, I appreciate this was 18+ show
Both of the openers killed the crowd. They both tried so hard to shove their music down our throats. Not good. We left before shadows even came out. Very very disappointed
First time reviewing here & first Red bull event! Let me just start with a big WOW & Thank you to Red Bull for putting together such a great event! kuddos to the Red Bull Team that gave us everything from free parking, awesome grub and great free drinks TOTAL VIP ALL THE WAY! The music just made the night even better, TORO Y MOI brought it home my 5th time catching those guys. We danced our butts off and have nothing but great memories!! Thank you!
Loved it!! Great crowd great venue. Talented artist
Great venue, even greater performance. I loved seeing Toro y Moi, not only did I have great seats, but I was lucky enough to run into Chaz who said hello to me *fangirling* I would definitely recommend seeing them live, it was freaking sweet.
What can I say another great show at the national, awesome venue, awesome atmosphere, awesome people, awesome band. Would not expect any less
Toro Y Moi always puts on a killer show from the music to the lights, I always recommend seeing them even if you do not know any songs but "like the sound"
Toro Y Moi put on a fantastic show at The National. They brought a great energy to the stage which translated to the crowd dancing all night. The whole band sounded great, they played almost all their big hits, and there was a good interaction with the crowd. I'll definitely see these guys again. Oh and the merchandise was super affordable which is refreshing.
Out of all of his hits, Toro y Moi decided to play the songs on the albums that you tend to skip over. For a rainy Friday night, he should've stayed with the more upbeat tunes to keep the audience from falling asleep but chose not to play those songs. Most of the audience checked out during the show, resorting to talking amongst themselves, checking their phones, etc... When you have a choice on whether to play the hits or play the more unknown tracks.... choose the hits!!! The quality of music was exceptional, but I think that the concert would've been better if he played more of his danceable tracks to keep the audience's attention. It seemed those tracks were the ones that people reacted better to. As I said to my husband after the concert, "It wasn't a bad concert.... but it wasn't good either".
