About

The stage name Too Short is a bit of an oxymoron for a rapper who launched his career in the early 1980s and continues to impress audiences with songs like "The Ghetto" and "Blow the Whistle." One of the major pioneers of West Coast rap, Too Short has maintained a productive career for over three decades. The legendary emcee performs infrequently, yet tickets to his shows are a hot commodity as fans line up to hear his extensive musical works that span 19 albums, 10 of which have earned gold or platinum status. No tour has been announced for 2014, although Too Short is expected to perform a concert or two over the course of the year. Too Short re-emerged in 2006 with "Blow the Whistle," peaking at No. 14 on the Billboard 200, his highest selling and most critically acclaimed album in years. He followed up with "Get Off The Stage" (2007), "Still Blowin'" (2010) and "No Trespassing" (2012). Along with "Still Blowin'" and "No Trespassing," Too Short has performed a variety of guest tracks for the likes of Snoop Dogg, Daz Dillinger, 50 Cent, Lil' Jon, Scarface and Wiz Khalifia. He is also featured on Lady Gaga's track "Jewels and Drugs" alongside T.I. and Twista.

Too Short was born and raised in the San Francisco Bay area and started performing in the early '80s with friend Freddy B. He released his first studio album, "Born to Mack," in 1987. Too Short helped build the West Coast scene and was instrumental in the work of fellow California rappers Tupac Shakur and Snoop Dogg. He also collaborated with The Notorious B.I.G. and Scarface. Too Short continued to build his rap empire throughout the 1990s and 2000s and was honored by VH1 as a Hip-Hop Legend.

  • Very disappointing

by Shugg on 12/19/23Gila River Resorts & Casinos - Wild Horse Pass - ChandlerRating: 2 out of 5

When we purchased our tickets, it said the concert started at 10 pm. Too Short didn't come out until 11:22 pm and the show ended at 12 am. Part of this 38 minutes, he spent filling up concert-goers cups with shots of patron and talking, not entertaining. We were very excited to attend this concert but left very disappointed and unsatisfied.

  • Disappointed

by Connie on 12/19/23Gila River Resorts & Casinos - Wild Horse Pass - ChandlerRating: 3 out of 5

I was disappointed first way to many people in that place . People was pushing and running into everyone. Someone had spilled beer on me. People was drunk acting like a fool. Too Short came out over a hour late. I could go on and on but I won't.

  • Concert was Great. I Had a Good Time

    by Swayze on 3/3/22Paramount Theatre-Oakland - OaklandRating: 5 out of 5

All Performers put on a very good show. Too Short is the Man, No Doubt. If I had to choose an All Out Performance other than Short, I have to go with the Luniz performance. The Energy they brought, was Good to See. Not taking anything away from any other Artist. The Unity during the show was amazing....

  • TOO SHORT IN OAKLAND

    by DEE DEE on 3/2/22Paramount Theatre-Oakland - OaklandRating: 5 out of 5

The show was GREAT...Really enjoyed the OG artist that came together and put on the show. It wasn't a sold out event but I loved the fact that the staff opened up the seating for our comfort. I'm a bit Too $hort fan and have been to a ton of his shows and this one was really personal for him. He was home and we got to put a face to some names he mentioned in his rap stories from the beginning of his career. Classic!

  • Too much talking.

    by Big Los on 3/1/22Paramount Theatre-Oakland - OaklandRating: 3 out of 5

Too Short shouted out the whole East Oakland instead of his hits!! Too much talking and not enough performing! I paid to see a show not East Oakland shout out reunion!

Nothing much down time between performers so the crowd didn't become unruly. A good experience. Sound quality was good.

  • Was good to see and hear old Sokol music

    by Bombshell on 2/28/22Paramount Theatre-Oakland - OaklandRating: 3 out of 5

It wasn’t sold out! I was surprised but the tickets should’ve been a bit cheaper. Plus it wasn’t announced enough maybe more people would’ve attended. I found out by word of mouth. Overall it was all good vibes.

  • Good time.

    by Lulu on 2/28/22Paramount Theatre-Oakland - OaklandRating: 3 out of 5

Enjoyed the concert, but it took 40 min to an hour for each of the main acts to come out. The. Too Short has all of Oakland on the stage! Didn’t come to see all that! CD she rocked it!!! But all in it was fun. Time is money, they need to be on time!

  • It was nice alot of old school

    by Yanna on 2/28/22Paramount Theatre-Oakland - OaklandRating: 5 out of 5

Everyone did a excellent job .but one issues is when you buy front seat tickets other come from there sit ans stand right in front of you and .you have to stand up to see the show security such have been trained on that issues because it was uncomfortable to keep as people to move so you can see the show.

  • Great Show

by Yettie on 10/19/21Chaifetz Arena - St. LouisRating: 5 out of 5

I hadn’t had that much fun at a concert in a long time. It started on time. The MC was great a hosting in between acts and keeping the party going. Everybody performed great and we had a ball. It was like a nonstop party. It was nice to see Scarface after the years he has had. He also mentioned this will probably be his last show. Blessings to him.

  • Some good some ok 1 bad

by Ray on 10/19/21Chaifetz Arena - St. LouisRating: 2 out of 5

Twista saved the show to bad he was the first act. Scarface is sick, pray for him he gave what he could. Bun B brought it for real. Mysticals voice is no more, he was lip synching and not well. 8 ball and Mjg underwhelmed and for some reason did not play there big cuts. Sir Too was too lame. No stage show at all, emcee/promoter was other than twista most entertaining.
