Blast from the Past, Fun Night

by Jewelz813 on 2/1/11Scottish Rite Auditorium - Collingswood

First time at this theatre and couldn't have been more pleased. Tommy James has magically maintained his voice and hit the notes perfectly! What an upbeat and entertaining show. His band was excellent as well. Also enjoyed Jake Kocha (comic) very much! Would definitely recommend this concert to all who know Tommy's music :)

    Very Good Show

by JayBeal on 1/31/11Scottish Rite Auditorium - Collingswood

A very enjoyable evening. Tommy James still sounds great. The show was only about an hour but covered all of the best material. I thought the band was very strong as well.

    Tommy James was remarkable!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

by fan45678 on 1/31/11Scottish Rite Auditorium - Collingswood

I enjoyed the show and most of all so did my mother. Tommy James is a great performer and interacted with his audience, which made the show unforgetable. My mother in all her years never got to shake a Rockers hand. She was so excited when Tommy James came down in the audience and she got to shake his hand. The songs were all calssic hits and enjoyed singing them.

    Brought me back in time!

by Michi458 on 1/31/11Scottish Rite Auditorium - Collingswood

Tommy James and the Shondells at the Scottish Rite Auditorium in Collingswood, NJ was amazing! It brought me right back to the sixties and seventies, as I was singing along and standing and dancing along with them. Tommy still sounds great after all these years. The comedian that opened for them was pretty funny, more than most comedians I have seen on TV lately. It was a great night, except for the one wrong turn we made looking for somewhere to eat - we ended up in Camden!

    Good performance, no personality

by ObieWonA on 1/31/11Scottish Rite Auditorium - Collingswood

The guy has written a book about his career but didn't tell a single story about his career or his songs. The performances were good but a bit too loud.

    Tommy James and the Shondells

by annieoaklee on 1/31/11Scottish Rite Auditorium - Collingswood

I was at the Scottish Rite Auditorium in Collingswood, NJ for the Tommy James and the Shondells show. It was a GREAT SHOW. Everyone had a Great seat. Acoustics were fantastic!!!! Great comedian as an opening act. All together, there was NOT a bad time throughout the entire show. Tommy should play there more often. Also, Ticketmaster did there part in sending me a reminder of the show. Great Job Ticketmaster!! Life does get hectic. Glad you were looking out for me.

    Don't bother!

by GlassyCat on 1/31/11Scottish Rite Auditorium - Collingswood

Tommy James played for slightly less than an hour ... the shortest concert I've ever been to. He did nine songs. Maybe if they did some jamming they could have stretched it out a bit more but they didn't. The music was extremely loud ... perhaps to cover up the feedback that occured the entire show. And let's not forget him killing about 10 minutes of that hour, shaking the hands of the audience. Never again!!!

    TOMMY JAMES AND SHONDELLS

by LUCKYBILLYBOB on 1/31/11Scottish Rite Auditorium - Collingswood

Was just ok. the band really didn't put on a great show. i could have watched these guys on tv and have been just as happy (rather than laying out $45/ticket). took my sister (who grew up listening to these guys); she thought they were good and sounded like they used to, but i "youtubed" them and thought they were much better on youtube. would i recommend this concert - yes, if only you're bringing someone who knew who they were way back when. otherwise, i wouldn't pay again to see them.

    Short but great

by DSTUMP on 1/31/11Scottish Rite Auditorium - Collingswood

Tommy James was terrific on Saturday night. They played every hit. In fact after the band left the stage I commented that they didn't do Sweet Cherry Wine or Mirage, two of my favorites and sure enough those were their encore songs. Tommy still has the same voice and in an age of guitar rock, it was nice to hear a group with keyboards again. The band was excellent as well, not just in their playing but in the 4 part harmony that they added to Tommy's singing. My only negative comment was that the show was too short. He only played for about a hour, maybe a little longer. After attending a Green Day concert earlier this year where they played for almost three hours, it seemed really short. So I'd have liked about 1.5-2 hours of concert with them playing some of the non-hits or a cover or two. Other than that, if you have a chance to see them, do it because it was enjoyable. The venue is terrific by the way. Not a bad seat in the theater.

    Sound Engineer was lousy !

by Paver on 1/31/11Scottish Rite Auditorium - Collingswood

The group could still sing, but the sound engineer drowned them out with the instruments. Feed back was terrible also.

Peter Noone with Herman's Hermits was quite enjoyable. He was entertaining and had a connection with the crowd. Tommy James ran through his considerable list of hits. I enjoyed I Think We're Alone Now and Crimson and Clover. Tommy really needs a new hair stylist.

The show was really good, I like Peter Noone and the stories he told were really funny. Tommy James and the Shondells were also really good. We have seen Peter Noone before, but this was the first time to see the Shondells. All and all it was a really fantastic show.

    Peter Noone was great!

by CCClark on 1/16/11Hard Rock Live - Hollywood

The show with Peter Noone was great. It was a lot of fun, had the audience participating and they sounded just like he use to. Tommy James, not so much. I think his band was a little loud - at times it was hard to tell what song he was really singing and the beats seemed a bit off. I noticed about half the crowd loved them, the other half left. Glad Peter Noone was first, or it would have been a sad half audience. Get Peter back again!

back to the feel good music

by OCCTERRAD on 1/16/11Hard Rock Live - Hollywood

What a great concert. Herman's Hermits took us back to the feel good music we grew up on. His talent for entertaining is just as good today as it ever was. Tommy James made us feel good also but rocked us a little bit harder. Thank you both for the unbelievable entertainment you provided.

Peter Noone and Tommy James & the Shondells Concer

by Snowball1114 on 1/15/11Hard Rock Live - Hollywood

The Hard Rock Live in Hollywood has evidently tried to squeeze in as many seats as possible in their concert hall. If you don't like almost sitting on top of your neighbors then I wouldn't go there. I won't be going to anymore concerts there. You can't move once you are in your seats. Ridiculous! Peter Noone was amazing. He is so funny and puts on a great show. I've seen him several times and everytime it's great. Tommy James was good. I'm not sure why during Mony Mony he left the stage and went down to the front row to shake hands with everyone. He finally came back up on stage and tried to get the momentum back for Mony Mony but it was gone. Doing that was stupid.

Peter Noone should have been the main act. Not only can he sing but he is funny. Regretfully, had to many professional photographers in front of the stage blocking the view.
