In 2010, Tinie Tempah officially put England on the hip-hop map with his breakthrough album Disc-Overy, following three years later with Demonstration, which featured the hit singles "Trampoline" and "Children of the Sun." The rapper, born Patrick Chukwuemeka Okogwu, was raised in London, and with roots in Nigeria from his parents. He was influenced by hip-hop from an early age and conceived the stage name, Tinie Tempah, after watching the music video for So Solid Crew's "21 Seconds." He produced several mixtapes before releasing "Disc-Overy" in 2010. In February 2011, Tempah was awarded "Best British Breakthrough Act" and "Best British Single" at the Brit Awards after "Pass Out" and "Written in the Stars" not only made him a hero within England but abroad as well. The rapper has also been nominated for various achievements at the MOBO Awards, BET Awards and MTV Europe Music Awards.
