Trina Frey was awesome! Amy Prowler can sing MF’ers. Fantastic show. I’d go every night but can’t afford it
The show-what I could hear of it-was good. However, the sound system was atrocious. most of it was garbled. While the orchestra section laughed uproariously, there was absolute silence in the balcony during the show because we could not hear. I’ll never go back to the Beacon unless I get orchestra seats. BTW, we were in the second row center in the balcony. Anywhere else with a good sound system, these would have been great seats.
This was a decent show, and I love them both. But the allegedly "improv"portions of the show were obviously pre-planned/rehearsed and it had some slow moments. If tickets weren't north of $300 face value I might feel differently but that's a high bar for a duo that admittedly hasn't done standup before.. this was a major undertaking and a great experiment but don't make us pay for your growth edge.
I can’t even describe how genius, iconic, and dynamic this show was. I pray to God they’re going to make a filmed special for this (which of course won’t be identical because each show will be different).
If anyone ever has the chance to see Tina Fey and Amy Poehler, they should take it.
Tina and Amy were great, our seats were not. We paid about $260 a ticket and were up in the top balcony, almost last row. We couldn’t see the ladies they were standing at the front of the stage and we could just see their heads, when people in front of us weren’t blocking our view. Plus the servility were frequently walking back and forth making sure no one was taking photos we were bobbing our heads back and forth nonstop it was totally distracting. This is a problem with the layout and where they stood and not their material. They were very funny but if you can afford it, definitely sit on the second balcony or below.
It was like 4 shows in 1. A little bit of back and forth in the beginning, stand up from Amy, then stand up from Tina, ending with some great Q&A. ALL of it was funny. Really great show!
I did not enjoy the last part of the show. It was more like an interview. I would like more comedic interaction.
Two of our most treasured comedic writers-directors-actors together to share their back story and friendship. I enjoyed every minute.
It was well worth two hours of my time. A female Indian comedian opened the show and she was very funny and captured the audience attention. Enjoyed the various videos of T&A. Both were funny throughout the show and their chemistry came through, as it always does. It was fun to learn about their start in the business. The only disappointment for me was the Q&A at the end. They weren’t at the top of their game answering the questions, a bit boring actually. But I’m glad I was able to attend the show, especially in NYC!
Incredibly funny and entertaining. What was distracting was the opening of the back doors and the light reflecting up to the stage. This is the second show that this happened.
I would highly recommend this show. Both Tina and Amy were terrific. Zarna was great as the warm up as well. A very nice addition was Rachel Dutch doing an impromptu. Terrific entertainment.
Tina & Amy were marvelous! Their talents compliment one another and the show was nonstop hilarity.
Tiny Fey and Amy Poehler's show is incredibly funny, but also filled with warmth and empathy...they clearly love each other, and that comes across in everything they do: from a live version of Weekend Update to stories about how they met, their road through entertainment, and individual standup routines, they put on an unforgettable show - bravo to them!
I was laughing the entire show as were everyone around us. Great night in a beautiful venue
Great show - clever and so funny! I coukd have laughed all night
I missed this show in Chicago, where I live, because tickets seemed so expensive. But then I immediately regretted it and bought a ticket to the next show in NYC. Worth every penny and more. I’d go again tomorrow if I weren’t already back home. Guys, come on. They’re the best. They put on a great show, where you’ll be in great comedy of other people just like you, equally excited to be there. And, if you get lucky like I did, you’ll get to stare into Rachel Dratch’s dreamy ocean eyes for a few precious minutes during a surprise guest appearance. I had to stop screaming for the sake of the other guests. It’s like a white woman gen z wet dream. Do they sell backstage passes? I should go back.. The key takeaway here is arrive early. Why rush? Their opener, Zarna Garg, is sharp and hysterical. And, as with other career Moms you’ve met, the show starts on time.
What a fun experience! I wasn’t sure what to expect, but loved the three “acts” of this show, the video element, the inclusion of improv and stand-up; especially Tina’s take on how to do stand up from studying male comics, hilarious! And Amy’s riff on Gen Z, just great! The only part I didn’t love was the question and answer section at the end. It’s an interesting idea, but the energy really drops and the audience questions were pretty vanilla. To improve this section, I think it would be more entertaining if they answered mystery questions, gathered from others in their industry; those people are more likely to have witty and fun questions vs. “What’s your favorite desert?” Really? Who cares? The song was very fun as well. These two ladies are amazing on their own and together; what a fun night!
Just their legacy of social comedic commentary and success as actors on amazing television shows, makes you enjoy being at their show. They are a unique and significant representation of women in our pop culture. The show was ok, a handful of good laughs with my adult daughters. Warm-up comedian was wonderful. We knew we were witnessing great artists, but this particular creation was not their best.
The best part was going out with friends for dinner at Playa Betty’s then heading to the show. I would have preferred an opening act of this Indian comic named Vijai Nathan who would have been amazing with the crowd. The show itself? Amy Poehler and Tina Fey each did some standup (maybe 10 minutes each?) which was fun. They also did a Weekend Update sketch which was good! Some improv. It was more of a variety show. I’m glad I went with my pals!
