STALE....MAKES THIS SHOW ALMOST FAIL! ALMOST.
by Rudy1 on 5/21/10Potawatomi Casino/Northern Lights Theater - MilwaukeeTim Conway is the master of timing in sketches. He should forget the stand-up monolgue stuff and stick to what he knows best. Tim's stand-up jokes were retreads and used last time we saw him about 10 years ago,.Tim along with Chuck Mcann and Louise DuArt performed Thursday atPotawatomi Casino. It's a thrill to see a "legend" like Tim re-create a lot of the fun skits that his fans have always appreciated. Being 77 years old; didn't stop Tim. He's still on his game when it comes to his comedy sketches. The only one that didn't work for any of the audience was the inmate skit. Nobody in the audience hardly smiled. Chuck seemed to have little problem filling Harvey Korman's slot as the straight man or in some of the skits as Tim's "second banana". Louise was at the top of her game as she "impersonated" George Burns and Gracie. Louise's problem was that the rest of her material was really stale and not updated. Audience members murmered under their breath with most of her celebrity impressions. being from the 1970's-1980's. She even botched up by saying it's easier doing impressions of celebs back then then now. She used Julia Child as an example; but meant Julia Roberts. Much of the crowd wasn't listening close enough to catch that. Louise didn't catch it. She is however a talented lady. All three talents' including Tim have to add a freshness to the show. It could have been better and should have been better. Walking out of the theater; most people seemed to agree.
