  • Not as interesting

by AA on 4/1/25Somerville Theatre - SomervilleRating: 2 out of 5

Although Tigray is very versatile, I didn’t find the concert that interesting. No connection with the anudience except the loudness and vibrations. Hope the keyboard player and the drummer got paid well bc they worked hard!!

  • Blew me away!

by Mihail on 3/31/25Irving Plaza Powered By Verizon 5G - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5

Tigran Hamasyan is one of my favorite jazz composers and pianists, so I expected a lot from this concert. Still, the show exceeded all my expectations and completely blew me away. He's definitely one of those artists that somehow manage to sound even better live, and the sound mixing was perfect, we could hear every detail of every instrument clearly. The crowd and atmosphere were also amazing, overall one of the best concerts I've been to in the last few years!

  • Great Show, Confusing Lounge Access

by Bill on 3/31/25Irving Plaza Powered By Verizon 5G - New YorkRating: 4 out of 5

The concert itself was fantastic. The venue was clean and the sound was great. It wasn't too crowded so that was nice. Only main issue is that I paid for "VIP"lounge access thinking this would allow for VIP balcony seating... but it didn't. One of the two upgrades should NOT be called VIP, so there is a clear difference when purchasing. When I buy a VIP upgrade with lounge access, I have no idea why you would think that doesn't include access to the VIP balcony. I went to a show at Brooklyn Paramount the next night, and the VIP upgrade included both lounge access and balcony access. Made perfect sense, and was exactly what I was expecting at both venues.

  • Transcendence in Real Time

by Varouján on 3/23/25The Regent Theater - Los AngelesRating: 5 out of 5

One of the greatest privileges of living in the 21st century is getting to experience Tigran Hamasyan live—arguably at the peak of his creative powers.

  • Tigran of a Thousand Rhythms

by BatmansKiss on 3/23/25The Regent Theater - Los AngelesRating: 5 out of 5

Excellent dynamic show. Tigran is a rhythmic genius! He rocked out with his own musical language consisting of Armenian folk songs, Mideast scale riffs, metal, folk whistling and singing, and metal pounding rhythms. All live. This featured the new album The Bird of a Thousand Voices. Highlight of the evening was The Kingdom where the audience got to sing along. So vibrant and magical. Hope he makes some live recordings. No wonder this guy travels around the world. I would definitely go again.

  • Transcendent music

A one of a kind experience with amazing musicians playing acid rock folk songs in all time signatures - unique and thoroughly enjoyable.

  • What a virtuoso musician! Tigran is world-class!

This is the third time I’m seeing Tigran and his band live! And I must say just when you think you have just witnessed a musical genius, he goes and raises the bar to another genius level! Just incredible.

  • Jazz meets metal

by Bruno C on 3/25/24Ludlow Garage Cincinnati - CincinnatiRating: 5 out of 5

I went to this concert “blind”. That is, I had not heard any of the music of Tigran Hamasyan before attending the concert. I must admit that I was blown away. I have never experienced piano played like that. Lyrical mixed with a very percussive playing style. It goes without saying tgat Hamasyan is a virtuoso but there is so much more to his songwriting and playing. When I found out that he’s influenced by metal music as well as jazz and folk music it all made sense. One problem I have with jazz fusion (which I suppose this music could be classified as if you need classifications) is a focus on virtuosity to the detriment of the music and that’s why the Hamasyan trio was so refreshing. And since I mentioned the trio, both the drummer and bass player were excellent.
