About

Tiger Army played their first show at seminal California DIY venue 924 Gilman in 1996. A trio with guitar, stand-up bass & drums led by singer, guitarist & songwriter Nick 13, the bandā€™s sound is a unique blend of punk and Midcentury rock 'n' roll, emphasizing songwriting and melody.Ā

Four albums were released on Hellcat/Epitaph, starting with their self-titled debut in 1999. Heavy touring continued through the end of 2008, when they wrapped the cycle for ā€˜Music From Regions Beyondā€™, produced by the legendary Jerry Finn. The album yielded the single ā€œForever Fades Awayā€ and their highest visibility with favorable reviews in the ā€˜New York Timesā€™ & a national TV appearance on ā€˜Jimmy Kimmel Liveā€™, yet theyā€™ve always been outsiders to the mainstream, authenticity never compromised.

Nick 13 switched gears to play Americana music solo, releasing & touring a self-titled album on Sugar Hill Records in 2011. Tiger Army continued in a limited capacity, still playing ā€˜Octoberflameā€™, a multi-night SoCal festival curated by 13 (which had its tenth installment in 2019 with 2 sold out shows at The Wiltern in Los Angeles) and known for the bandā€™s different setlists each night featuring deep cuts, surprise covers & guest musicians.

The band returned to full-time status in 2015 with the recording of 'V ā€¢ā€¢ā€¢ā€“' (their fifth album), released the following spring on Lunatone/Rise & supported with extensive touring over four continents that lasted into late 2017. 2018 saw the release of the tiki/surf themed 'Dark Paradise' EP. 2019 was marked by the creation & release of 'Retrofuture', their sixth full length LP ā€“ they managed to tour in North America, Germany & the UK before the pandemic struck.

Tiger Army is known for its passionately devoted fanbase, with thousands sporting tattoos of lyrics, song titles, or the bandā€™s signature ā€œTigerBatā€ logo. Any set is a journey that takes the audience from romantic ballads like ā€œDark and Lonely Nightā€ or the Rock en espaƱol ā€œMi Amor La Lunaā€, to high energy stompers like ā€œF.T.W.ā€.

They celebrate their 25th anniversary in 2021, come see whatā€™s led to the longevity for yourself at a live show when you can!

by nkm on 11/1/22House of Blues Anaheim - Anaheim

merch line was extremely long. The security lady was not the nicest in letting people step to side to view merch available. Please make merch line faster or in a location were people can view it with out having to be in a line.

    Worst venue

by Toni on 11/1/22House of Blues Anaheim - Anaheim

It was overcrowded. We were watching lights from the hallway because the stage was not visible.

Delta bonvers were good, the performance in the middle was boring so lame. Some guy told me if i can not talk and keeo it doen only performer he came to see which was lame aorry not sorry. Tiger Army was good i just wish he would've played soke more old songs but i expected it. Overall was a great performance i felt he went harder the first time i went to see him he seemed more laid back this time but overall great performance.

    by E. L. on 10/29/19The Wiltern - Los Angeles

For my first show it was great! They played the song I wanted to hear hechizo de amor and pain. I loved the little inspirational speeches nick gave right before some of the songs like F.T.W The bass solo was amazing and the drummer as well.

    start the show later

by dreiss on 10/29/19The Wiltern - Los Angeles

Too long of break between bands since no real stage setup was needed before set. The break shouldn't be longer than the band playing. Tiger Army as always was great fun.

    October flame.

    by J. G. on 10/28/19The Wiltern - Los Angeles

Vocals on point, much more needed in regards to sound engineering. Bass was drowned out by overwhelming guitar and feedback. Lovely venue though.

by V. on 10/28/19The Wiltern - Los Angeles

Delta Bombers were good, and so was Tiger Army. They got the crowd going it was amazing but the middle performance was so slow and boring. He kept talking and playing the same C cord songs. It was pretty lame it made me sleepy, a lot of people sat on the floor or left to get drinks while he played because anything was better than standing up for that guys mediocre performance.

Iā€™ve never seen Tiger Army before because Iā€™ve never been able to catch them when they come to south Florida. I wasnā€™t going to miss it this year and Iā€™m glad we made time to make it to the show! We had a great time!
