VASTLY Overrated.... my son was heartbroken!

by krysdorf on 4/9/11Cintas Center - Cincinnati

My son is the biggest fan of Thomas the Train I know. I purchased tickets - quite expensive tickets - so that our entire family could attend. We were all looking forward to this event and drove 2+ hours each way with an expectation of fun and excitement for everyone! We were exceedingly disappointed!! The sound was barely audible with all of the kids talking out of boredom. A kids show should be loud and bright and sucking them in with all of the music and excitement... this was a fail in that department. Then, to top it off, they stop the show in the middle and had a ridiculously long intermission. We were actually ANGRY that the show was so incredibly short and disappointing, not-to-mention expensive!! They could have at least had picture-taking opportunities after the show with some of the characters (i.e.- the 'trains', or maybe Sir Topham Hat) to try and make up for how short it was! We were sooooo sad to see our son's face and to hear him ask us after all of that, "Is that all???" I want my money back!

    Thomas was a hit!

    by HRH013 on 4/9/11Cintas Center - Cincinnati

Thomas Live On Stage was a big hit with my 3 year old! It was definitely worth the drive and the cost. It was not packed full of people, which was nice on one hand but I am surprised at how few there were considering the cult following Thomas seems to have. The only thing I was disappointed in was the souvenir selection. They basically had only one toy, a few shirts, a hat, a swirly straw, watch, a trinket and a special Thomas bag you could purchase to hold the other things you bought. We are from a small town and the Thomas selection around here is very limited--I had hoped there would be some cool new things we could add to our collection here at home--but that was definitely not the case.

thomas and friends was one great event

by jedrock on 4/9/11Cintas Center - Cincinnati

It was so much more than I had imagined - my grandchildren were spellbound and I loved it. The characters were lively and creative and Thomas, Percy and Diesel were way bigger than I had imagined. I would recommend this to all my friends with small children or grandchildren

    Thomas - a bit of a disappointment

by TILMOT on 4/9/11Cintas Center - Cincinnati

Very expensive for the quality of the performance and overall production.

Cute show for Thomas fans. My son had fun singing along with some of his favorite Thomas songs. Intermission WAY too long foor kids that age. The entire place metled down after a 25 minute intermission.

    Thomas the Train...

by vicbea on 4/9/11Cintas Center - Cincinnati

My son absolutely LOVES Thomas, so no matter how bad the show, we could not go wrong. I have been to several shows with him. This one left me a little disappointing considering how much I paid for tickets. First of all, there were only three trains...Thomas, Percy, and Diesel. So it was hard to explain to a two year old why he couldn't see any of the other trains. The intermission was TOO LONG!!!! For a show that was to be one hour and thirty minutes, the intermission was at least 30 minutes and the show ended at about 7:20pm instead of 7:30pm. I realize they expect a packed house of people who want snacks and souvenoirs, but there are some who want to really enjoy the show. Some of the other shows we've been to did not have that long. Overall, the show was neat. It had a great plot and definitely kept my sons attention. I would recommend it if you could get cheaper prices on tickets!

I never expected my 2 1/2 year old to sit still that long, but he was positively captivated.
