    Awesome Show!

by HopeLucy on 2/16/12Royale Boston - Boston

This was an awesome show. A Far Cry, the string orchestra was incredible, animated and I loved how they played alongside the other bands for the entire show. I've never been so close to an orchestra before! It was a great experience and I really felt the emotion in their music. A Slow Six and TWDY were just as impressive. All in all a great performance! Roayale was cool venue for the show but a little big for the amount of people that attended.

    An act that attacks!

by Emrchant on 6/5/11Bowery Ballroom - NEW YORK

Well as an overall I would just like to say that the show was absolutely amazing. Honestly though there has not been any disappointment's. I saw "This Will Destroy You" about a year ago at the new knitting Factory in Williamsburg and even then they where phenominal. They never stop giving a performance that is not worth staying for the whole set. Although I do wish that they had played a lot more of there songs. I have about 3-4 albums by them and all of there albums all posses the ability to grab whatever emotions, if you don't already have, that you have and open the gates of "Intensity". There an amazing band that I highly recommend for anyone to watch live or listen to on CD. I'm super stoked that I was able to see them while there still on tour.

    SImply Amazing

by MikeTekiM on 6/4/11Bowery Ballroom - NEW YORK

These guys just killed it. First time seeing them and definitely not my last. I brought a friend who had never listened to them before and she was absolutely blown away. Bowery Ballroom affirmed yet again as my favorite small venue in the city. On a negative note, NYC usually has a ton of class when it comes to music of any kind, but TWDY didn't get the love they deserve. Overly intoxicated hipsters couldn't keep their mouths shut during the set, and on top of that started heckling the band towards the end. Do everyone a favor and stay home if you're going to act like an asshole. While I paid them little mind, I hope the band knows that we're all not self-important douches and come back again soon.

First guy was ok, I guess, but not really the right crowd, and sound was distorted and muffled. Second band was pretty tight for their 6th show ever, but I didn't personally like them. Sound quality was lacking. This Will Destroy You was awesome, and made it worth it. Sound quality was awesome. (Because they have their own sound guy?) There were some loud people yelling over each other in the back distracting from the music, to the point that the band had to stop and tell them to shut up. This should be the bouncer/security's job, not the band's. The security guy didn't seem to be doing anything, just wandering around.

    This Will Destroy You('re Eardrums)

by djpapalia on 6/4/11Brighton Music Hall - Boston

It was a pretty good show. I have never been to the Brighton Music Hall before. The venue was cool and clean, drinks were expensive, but what can you do? I would definitely go back. I have never heard This Will Destroy You live before so I don't have anything to compare this performance to, but I felt like they were too loud. I don't know if it was intentional or the sound guy wasn't paying attention. If I wanted to feel bass in my chest I'll go to a dub show. The opening groups were good, eclectic. The sound was loud, but okay for them. It was nice that the venue was selling earplugs at the door, but they really should be complimentary.

    Great intimate gig

by NBAmmkay0tumblr0com on 6/3/11Brighton Music Hall - Boston

Tickets were only $12, but the music was worth $120 or more. The tickets were cheap and the show was great. My only (minor) drawback was that most material played was from the new album, but they did just release it a few weeks ago, so that's to be expected, and the music was good anyways.

    TWDY was loud

by JTC81 on 6/3/11Brighton Music Hall - Boston

I will always make a point of seeing these guys when they're in the area, but this wasn't one of their best shows. Not their fault at all, the sound mixing was just way the hell off. I think the bass actually blew one of the PA speakers, and then in the second half the drums were too loud. Nonetheless, a great mix of old and new stuff. They played my 2 favorite songs, Burial on Presidio Banks and There are some remedies...; so that was great, but both songs have amazing "wall of sound" moments on the records that got lost live because Chris' guitar was too low in the mix.
