In many ways, Ireland can be best represented through their culture of music and the distinctive sound associated. Despite their native Irish roots, the duo of frontman Keith Roberts (lead singer/rhythm guitarist) and Paul O'Toole began performing together in 1988 after moving to California. By 1993 they would officially call themselves The Young Dubliners and eventually evolve into a seven-piece band. O'Toole would move on from the band in the mid-90s, while Roberts would remain the only constant in the band throughout the years. Current members, in addition to Roberts, include Chas Waltz (violin/keys/vocals), Justin Pecot (guitar/vocals), Dave Ingraham (drums), and Ethan Jones (bass guitar). Although often referred to as only Celtic rock, The Young Dubliners maintain Celtic roots with a variation of other influences, with Roberts explaining on their website, "The Sound was intended to be a hybrid because we all come from different backgrounds..."
