About

After postponing a brief North American tour earlier this year, The Yardbirds are pleased to announce their 2015 Fall tour.

Kicking off on Friday, October 30 in Norfolk, CT, The Yardbirds – founding member and Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee Jim McCarty, renowned guitarist Johnny A (Peter Wolf, Bobby Whitlock), bassist Kenny Aaronson (Bob Dylan, Billy Idol), singer/blues harpist/percussionist Myke Scavone (Ram Jam & Doughboys), and guitarist/singer John Idan – will tour throughout October and November.

Unfortunately, due to scheduling conflicts, guitarist Earl Slick will not be a part of this tour, as previously announced.

Formed in 1960s’ London, The Yardbirds boasted some of the most infamous guitarists of all time – Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck, and Jimmy Page. Co-founded by McCarty with singer Keith Relf, rhythm guitarist Chris Dreja, bassist Paul Samwell-Smith, and lead guitarist Top Topham, the band unleashed a string of hits, including “For Your Love,” “Over Under Sideways Down,” and “Heart Full Of Soul,” and in turn, influenced generations of musicians and fans.

Electrifying, eclectic, and way ahead of their time, The Yardbirds’ continue their unbreakable legacy. The Yardbirds’ train keeps a rollin’ !!!

    Fantastic Rock Medley

by frodo1925 on 5/9/18NYCB Theatre at Westbury - Westbury

When I got tickets for the Yardbirds I didn't realize that I'd experience a fantastic evening of rock before they even came on including Blues Magoo, Canned Heat and Mark Stein. I usually get bored during warm-ups for the main act but not this time, each group was brilliant in its own right. Mark Stein did "You Keep Me Hangin On" so well people had to get up and move. Also did great Alice Cooper stuff like "School's Out for Summer" raw and real. Then the new and improved Yardbirds came out and I was totally blown away. Johnny A on guitar was brilliant as always. Played "You're a Better Man" so well. Jim McCarty on drums still going strong after all these years. Westbury is a great venue with no bad seats and draws a friendly down home crowd. Absolutely fantastic night of rock n roll. I'm still high from it.

    Almost too much entertainment!

by HungryBob on 5/9/18NYCB Theatre at Westbury - Westbury

Took Ed to see the Yardbirds with Canned Heat. He's a huge Mole fan. The bands were exceptional. Great venue. He said this was probably the best Xmas gift he's ever received. Gary didn't and won't get his gift. Can't forget how great the Blues Magoos were opening this tremendous bill.

I wasn't expecting much with only one original member plus the ticket price was so low. But, I was very pleasantly surprised. These guys were great!

    60s legends updated to today

by Mikefumetti on 5/7/18Turning Stone Resort Casino Showroom - Verona

One of the best shows you will see is the Yardbirds in concert. Yes they do not have Jimmy page, Jeff Beck, or Eric Clapton, but they have amazing players who will re-create the sound that made them famous in the 1960s with seminal songs like over under sideways down, shapes of things, and for your love

    Yardbirds were amazing!

by Rlevy29 on 7/10/17Resorts Atlantic City - Atlantic City

The Yardbirds showed that getting older does not mean your talent goes away. We enjoyed all of the songs the ones we know and the ones we don't. We would definitely see the Yardbirds again!

    Yardbirds were awesome...

by bshpilot on 6/11/17South Shore Room at Harrah's Lake Tahoe - Stateline

part of the British Invasion in the 60's and worth what I overpaid for the seats, which I almost sold! Was not sure if we would be in town on that date. Glad we made it! Our 40th anniversary! Only thing missing was... the Kinks! "Rock On, Yardbirds" !

by DinoBCrazy on 6/6/17South Shore Room at Harrah's Lake Tahoe - Stateline

The Yardbirds were fantastic! Really set the mood with all wired instruments and classic drum kit...played the same instruments all night...even replacing a broken E string during the bass solo,,amazing!

    Like watching a copy band...

by Tambrerocks on 6/6/17South Shore Room at Harrah's Lake Tahoe - Stateline

I was excited to see the Yardbirds ... was disappointed as I felt like I was just watching a copy band for the price of the real band. I was aware that only one original member is still in the band, however, the performance was poor. The guitar player was not very good and had no feel in his playing like his predecessors, The sound was bad and frustrating. After the show I stood in line to get an autograph and a few of the members were so rude we left before meeting all of them.

Yardbirds miss Beck, Clapton, Page and 60s

by BarryL on 3/9/17Palladium - St Petersburg

Jim McCarty was the only original Yardbird at the concert. The star was the Jeff Beck look-alike guitarist who sang great and was the highlight. The band was good, the bass player was amazing but--and this is huge--this was a cover band and not the real thing. They played well but it was not like watching a vintage band play their music. I would pass on this band.

    Great lineup!

by 1concertgo on 10/14/16B.B. King Blues Club & Grill - New York

I saw this lineup earlier this year. They were a little better the last time. Idan's voice was a little raspy possibly from the previous nights free concert. Johnny A seemed a bit tired on guitar but still great. Bass player, percussionist and McCarty where great. Overall this is in my opinion the best replacement band since the oririginal performers back in the 60's.
