    Spooky good fun.

by B on 2/4/19Royal George Theatre - Chicago

I love horror films but hate haunted houses. This was the perfect combo - love action jumps and moody atmosphere. Great acting work all around. Legit scary at times. Probably not good for kids. Sound and light used very effectively - just don’t sit near the speakers!

Thumbs up for THE WOMAN IN BLACK.

    by K. J. on 1/30/19Royal George Theatre - Chicago

Scariest play I've been to in forever. I was in the first row and in constant tension waiting for the unexpected.

Great ghost story for the theater

by Mike and Linda on 1/26/19Royal George Theatre - Chicago

If you saw the film and were underwhelmed, you owe it to yourself to see the play. The entire concept "works" on stage and is ill-suited to film. This production is expertly done from pillar to post. We saw Hamilton the next night and remarked that we enjoyed Woman in Black equally--for completely different reasons.

    Actors were excellent

by Mmason on 1/23/19Royal George Theatre - Chicago

The story line was not my idea of interesting about a tormented woman who haunts a house. The actors did a great job however. probably wouldnt have gone to the play had my husband told me in advance what it wax about. Guess that’s why he didn't.

    Would see it twice

    by P. F. on 1/23/19Royal George Theatre - Chicago

A great way to experience a good old-fashioned ghost story. Really well-acted, and a good dose of the chills. Highly recommended. Bring the teens who like a little scare!

    Enjoyable

by Stever on 1/22/19Royal George Theatre - Chicago

The first half moved a little slow so you had to pay attention. The second half was entertaining with several shocks. The actors were excellent and the woman in black was spooky. Good show, would recommend for those would like a good ghost story.

    Hauntingly Mesmerizing

    by K. F. on 1/21/19Royal George Theatre - Chicago

Do NOT miss this west-end staple. (No spoilers) From the start this talented duo climb into your heart and mind with a performance that demands your attention. My husband, who is not a fan of theatre, was on the edge of his seat. I can't say enough about the sprawling talent of these actors, and the set, while simple, is all thats needed to envoke terror. Bravo to the lighting and sound crew. I may actually try to get back to the city before this ends.

    Great Theatre

by Susan on 1/12/19Royal George Theatre - Chicago

Woman in Black was better than even expected. The theatre was cozy and the lighting was perfect. The characters took you back to that island and you were there. I did not think was possible to really be terrified at Broadway but I was. What an intriguing and thrilling production. I want to see it again!!!

    Meh...

by Jgk116 on 1/9/19Royal George Theatre - Chicago

Slow to develop and not truly scary as advertised. Morr low key than expected. Acting was quite good and story/plot line played out well it was just kind of...boring.

For the most part we enjoyed it. The beginning was a bit long and drawn out, but definitely picked up after that. Loved the ending.

    Great

by Mike on 1/1/19Royal George Theatre - Chicago

Play was better than I was expecting. Staging was ingenious and the two main actors were fantastic in their roles. Royal George has always been one of my favorite theaters and they did not disappoint again!
