About

THE WHO IN CONCERT:

Rock ‘n’ roll gods The Who have always stood out from the pack with their wild onstage antics. Known for smashing guitars, swinging microphones around, jumping off amplifiers, and blowing up drum kits, the band has always represented the pinnacle of rebellious rock genius. Their larger-than-life performances are evenly matched by their huge sound, and classics like “My Generation”, “Pinball Wizard”, and “Won’t Get Fooled Again” are still played with thunderous force. For The Who Hits 50! Tour, the group is bringing their trademark monolithic grandeur and kinetic energy to stages around the world. Ticket buyers should be ready for an awe-inspiring stage show that lives up to the mythical status these legends so rightly deserve.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Formed in 1964 around Pete Townshend, Roger Daltrey, John Entwistle, and (later that year) Keith Moon, The Who have always been on the vanguard of music, art, and culture. With their first single “I Can’t Explain”, the band became a staple of English Mod culture. They also developed a penchant for onstage theatrics such as smashing guitars and destroying drum kits during their sets. The group took their high-concept performances to the next level in 1969 with the release of Tommy, known as the first “rock opera”. Their next album, 1971’s Who’s Next, further established the band with another batch of classic songs like “Won’t Get Fooled Again”, “Behind Blue Eyes”, and “Baba O’Reilly”. The continued to cement their status as rock gods throughout the decade, touring and releasing a steady string of hits. Throughout the '80s, '90s, and '00s The Who continued to deliver riveting live performances to stunned audiences around the world. Despite the passing of several members over the years, Daltrey and Townshend have soldiered on, delivering the critically acclaimed album The Endless Wire in 2006, their first album in 24 years.

Definitely in top 3 Pop music Concerts I've seen

by Rayc on 11/7/22Dolby Live - Las Vegas

I've seen a number of Pop concerts at 78 years old from Chuck Berry in 58 and Elvis and Elton etc over the years and was not even that familiar with The Who I'm sorry to say. This was FANTASTIC show from the balance of the entire event with some orchestral participation and a middle segment of the group almost as originally playing EXCELLENT. Roger Daltrey hit every note while Pete Townsend can still play beautifully.

    The Who Hit Back

by Good Guy on 11/7/22Dolby Live - Las Vegas

This concert took me back to my high school days. Roger Daltry and Pete Townshend were fantastic. I highly recommend getting VIP seats that will get you their autographs. My only complaint was they didn't play Squeezebox or My Generation.

    They've STILL got it!

by XXXz on 11/7/22Dolby Live - Las Vegas

For being nearly 80 years old, I thought this would be a debacle. The introduction of the orchestrta, a couple of back-up singers, and Daltrey using a more gravelly voice (age, smoking, ?) at a lower key, made this a f-in' amazing show.

    Long Live Rock!

by drdcd on 11/7/22Dolby Live - Las Vegas

I’ve seen the Who a half dozen times. This was the greatest - smaller venue, with orchestra and Roger’s voice was superb. The VIP experience was excellent. Good acoustics. An unforgetable night!

    Awesome!

by Chris on 11/7/22Dolby Live - Las Vegas

These guys (in their late 70s!!!) haven’t missed a beat! Roger Daltrey’s voice sounds as good as it ever has. And the backing orchestra is an outstanding touch. Zak Starkey on drums? C’mon!!! Great great show!

    Dolby

by No t on 11/7/22Dolby Live - Las Vegas

Twice we have attended concerts at the Dolby. The sound is terrible. They really need to have someone on an equalizer balancing the voice and the musical instruments.

    Venue could've been better

by TonyG on 11/7/22Dolby Live - Las Vegas

The Who was amazing as always....5 stars for them! However, the venue, I didn't really like it. The staff are friendly and all, but the seating is cramped (very little leg room), the bathrooms have too few stalls, and even the performers didn't seem to like the place much.

Who Venue - Park MGM inLas Vegas

by ATBster on 11/7/22Dolby Live - Las Vegas

This is the first time that we arranged concert tickets via the new Ticketmaster process. It was flawless. My brother purchased tickets for the 6 of us, transferred 2 to me, and I was able to download them without a hitch. 2 days before the show, the actual tickets became available on my app and, as recommended by TM, I moved them to my Apple Wallet - to avoid the need to access the internet or cell service at the venue to show the tickets/ Piece of cake.

    Disappointed

by Disappointed on 11/7/22Dolby Live - Las Vegas

I had high expectations. Song choice weak. When it got political we left. We don’t spend that much money for that.

    Great Venue / GREAT Band

by PowerPlay on 11/7/22Dolby Live - Las Vegas

Park MGM is a really great venue for a small concert. The Who belted out their famous music like they had not skipped a beat. Ages 78 & 77 and the guys still have Funk. The Vegas Orchestra that backed them all also need special congrats. **Four Stars simply because I had to ask the staff at MGM to stop talking and laughing 2'x during the concert. I sat on the isle and they were really long and obnoxious.

    Outstanding

by AROCKER on 11/7/22Dolby Live - Las Vegas

I been a Wholigan since 1970. Roger and Pete are as great sounding today as they were in 1970. In many ways even better. The arrangements and orchestra at the Vegas concert was perfect. The Dolby venue acoustics were not ideal. Cesar’s was better, but Who cares? Just being there was an unbeatable memory. Keep rocking! Music treats the mind and erases the craziness of society…. Always has, always will.

    They still rock

by Lance Romance-SLO on 11/7/22Hollywood Bowl - Hollywood

At 78 and 77 years of age, respectively, the duo of Roger Daltrey & Pete Townshend still give it their all. Although Roger's days of treating his microphone like a lasso are gone, Pete still rocks the windmill on guitar, with both senior citizens performing as if they were in their 20s...just more in control. The youngster in the band, 57-year-old Zak Starkey (who was a month away from turning 6 when "Who's Next" was released, did a more-than-admirable job on the skins, and if you shut your eyes you could imagine Moonie banging the bongos. It was my 6th time seeing them since 1971, and I loved this show just as much as my 1st. The orchestra for the 1st and 3rd sets is such a beautiful addition, proving the genius of maestro Townshend.
