The Wedding Singer was off tune

by deejayH on 4/2/10Landmark Theater - Richmond

Started out very slow and seemingly low production quality. The production picked up momentum in the second act, but lacked the comedy I was expecting. I guess Adam Sandler's comedic writings doesn't translate well from a screenplay to a musical.

    Wedding Singer

by Winemaker48 on 3/24/10Dow Event Center - Saginaw

My daughter and I were very disappointed in the production; we were expecting so much more. Those who sang had good voices, the dancing left much to be desired especially by Julia. We felt we were attending a high school performance and thought the ticket pricing was much too high for what we were getting. We left at intermission..

Missed the original music from the movie

by Sugarfoots on 3/24/10Dow Event Center - Saginaw

My husband and I really enjoyed the musical. However, the biggest reason we bought tickets for the event was because we love the 80's music from the movie and it was absent from the Musical. I wonder why? The comedy was funny and we enjoyed overall.

    LOVE the Wedding Singer!

This was such a great play! It makes me want to go back to the 80's!! Loved it.

    Wedding Singer just average

by bjr3178 on 3/21/10Sovereign Performing Arts Center - Reading

The show does not draw you into the characters near as well as the movie. Singing is just average. The only two songs that bring you closer to the characters are taken from the movie. The show hits you over the head with too many 80's cliche' moments culminating with a laughable ending that is neither touching nor close to being believeable. The George and Grandma characters keep the performance lively but do not make up for the lack of character development with the main players.

Wedding Singer just plain old fun

by ptwhales on 3/21/10Paramount Theatre - Aurora

Really an enjoying evening. If you were a teenager in the 80's this is a must. Excellent performances and fun music. The play had a wondeful sense of humor that provided many laughs. The only knock was it was in the large paramount theater and would have been better served in a more intimate setting

    The Wedding Singer was awesome!!!

by luv2bake on 3/19/10Sovereign Performing Arts Center - Reading

The show was awesome! The cast gave a wonderful performance. "George" was exceptional & very funny. The couple playing Robbie & Julia have so much talent & their voices blend so well together. I could watch this performance over & over again!

    That's Entertainment!

by BeanStitcher on 3/19/10Sovereign Performing Arts Center - Reading

My group all thought the show was entertaining and the performers were talented and to be admired for their committment to putting on a good show. Our favorite performers were "Linda" and "Robby." Reading through the program, we were pleasantly surprised to read that Robby & Julia were husband and wife in real life. How nice! No wonder they had such good chemistry. The programs were interesting as they provided insight into the performers' private lives and accomplishments. Most spectators no doubt think performing is an easy way to make a living, but when you read the accomplishments and think about how the performers travel and sacrifice, you appreciate the show even more. A nice way to spend a Thursday evening in a one horse town.

Thank goodness I only paid 1/2 price for my tickets. There was hardly anyone sitting around us in the Grand Tier. At least our seats were great! I would rate this play as a "really good High School production". The sound was very good for this production. We went to "Footloose" and couldn't understand a thing being said and we sat in the center of the hall. All in all it was a pleasant night spent with my husband watching a play.

I thought the Wedding Singer was awesome. The dancing was phenomanol. It was very well casted as well. I was just sorry that there wasn't more of an audience. That was a shame because it was such a wonderful show!

    THE WEDDING SINGER

by OHJUDY on 3/5/10Springfield Symphony Hall - Springfield

I would only recommend the very best show to a friend. This show was entertaining and the cast did a great job w/ what they had to work w/. I wish they could have sung more recognizeable songs from the 80's. I enjoyed the nite out and only went because I was able to get the tix at half price for my husband and I and another couple.

    Wedding Singer: Not Good

by CoreyNana on 3/5/10Springfield Symphony Hall - Springfield

This show fell short of my expectations. The choreography was not great, the singing was just OK, the music nothing to write home about and the characters were forgettable. My husband and I left at intermission. Too bad, it had great potential.

    Uneventful

by dzaniel on 2/24/10Fargodome - Fargo

The wedding singer was unfortunately cheesy and there were hardly any seats full, indicating perhaps that someone knew It'd be boring. The movie was much better. I would have been happy to leave at the intermission if the person I went with would have wanted to. It was just ok at best, I never felt like I wanted to keep watching at any point

    Very entertaining!

by FanofPlays on 2/23/10Fargodome - Fargo

It was a very enjoyable play and the subtle and not so subtle references to the 80's were hilarious. I would recommend seeing this play.

The Wedding Singer is totally awesome!

by Ninner on 2/19/10Chester Fritz Auditorium - Grand Forks

This production had it all! Superb acting, amazing musicality, cool sets, and enough 80's to appease even the most dedicated valley girl, but also stuck with the Wedding Singer storyline, with a few new twists thrown in. Would highly recommend event to anyone...even if you're not an 80's child.

    Wedding Singer worth the money

by gopherfan on 2/19/10Chester Fritz Auditorium - Grand Forks

overall very good. great comedy and above average singing. I'm not much of a musical or play person, but I like 80's music and the original movie, and this fit right in.
