About

After a 4-year hiatus, indie stalwarts The Walters return in full force amid the widespread success of their viral hit “I Love You So” on TikTok and DSPs, signing to Warner Records and announcing their first three headline shows since 2017. Hailing from Chicago, The Walters artfully intersect clever songwriting, catchy hooks, and soundtrack-worthy instrumentation steeped in a bit of a magic. Listeners first fell under the spell of the Chicago quintet—Luke Olson[lead vocals, guitar], Walter Kosner[lead guitar], MJ Tirabassi[rhythm guitar, vocals], Danny Wells[bass], and Charlie Ekhaus[drums]—when they independently released 2014’s Songs For DadsEP. Among many highlights, “Fancy Shoes”generated 30 million streams with “New Girl (Tom’s Song)” and “Life” on its heels. 2015’s Young Menonly maintained the group’s momentum as they attracted an impassioned and dedicated fan base. They captivated crowds in hallowed venues across their hometown such as The Metro, performed atRiot Fest, and left the audience amazed at Lollapalooza2017. Following the latter, their paths diverged during a mutual hiatus. In early 2021, the musicians reconnected and started plotting their return when the viral success of “I Love You So” accelerated their timeline. The song has swept across TikTok with over 270K fan-created videos. A standout from 2014’s Songs For Dads, its success overwhelmingly translated to DSPS, reeling in north of 133 million streams on Spotify and scaling the Global Top 50, currently at #40 and climbing, as well as #45 in the US Spotify Top 50. Signing to Warner Records, The Walters launch a new era in 2021 with their first shows in four years and plans for more music to come.

    Only okay for me.

by Sab on 12/12/21Mercury Lounge - New York

The performance seemed way too forced with a lot of jumping around & high five-ing which I found distracting. Also lead singer seemed to be yelling most of the time. Musicianship was good!

    Absolute Joy

by Andres on 12/11/21The Regent Theater - Los Angeles

This was my first ever concert & I went alone, that being said I had the time of my life. Their sound is so energized & fun. They literally have all smiles & it feels like they have so much gratitude for being up & performing. I bought tickets for their next show. I loved it, sang every song & enjoyed every second of it!

    Worth the travel

by Phil C on 12/9/21Bowery Ballroom - New York

Father & son fly from Texas just for 24 hours to see this unique sound play their 1st concert after years of band breakup. The was great, very close to stage, didn’t waive long, sound and playing was spot-on, and the front man as crazy as expected. Well worth it!
