The Veronicas were awesome!

When they were in NO the last time it was an 18+ show and she was very disappointed. Of course, she was equally excited when we got tickets for this show. We took two of her friends with us , mostly because the 4pack price was so good.
This was their first time at the HOB, they are 15, and they loved it from the minute we walked off of the street and into the walkway. The "no smoking, no alcohol" atmosphere helped me relax and let them enjoy the experience.
We had not ever heard of either of the opening acts. Carney was great - rockin', but passionate in a way the impressed everyone. You could feel their love of what they do. You could hear that they are talented musicians. You could see the fun in them. The girls really liked the opportunity to meet them in such an intimate setting - like friends catching up. The band was generous and gracious.
The Pretty Reckless was not impressive, talented or interesting. Probably just a matter of taste, I'm sure, but even the girls hated them. I can say that I am relieved as a parent, I would not want my daughter looking to Taylor Momson as any kind of a role model. I was actually rather proud that they disliked her outfit, her style, her screaming and her overtly sexual attempts to be attractive. The rest of the group just sorta fades away as you are revolted by her. Maybe she should just stick to acting.
The Veronicas were awesome! They were rocking their fabulous style. They made me feel like they appreciated the fact that I was there. They promoted the Red Nights cause very sincerely. The performance was full of the music that we love as well as some terrific surprises. Their talent as songwriters, musicians and entertainers was showcased to the fullest extent. The band was involved and included, even engaging on their own at times. It was really a dynamic show in a dynamite setting.
Music is such an important part of being a teenager - I so glad that this was such an awesome first concert for my daughter. Thank you.
