Excellent story and was clearly articulated in a veriety of ways that left little to imagination.

The Thorn was right on track! I teared up numerous times during the show. When they got to the part where the Roman soldiers were whipping Jesus and so was Satan, I was like “that makes total sense that Satan was whipping Jesus too”!! I highly recommend The Thorn to everyone!

The Thorn. I laughed. I cried. I clapped and hooted when I really wanted to jump to my feet and yell “Hallelujah!” The actor who played John (the main narrator of the story) was so thoroughly wonderful and convincing that I felt blessed when he called me (the audience, really, but that’s how good he was) “Beloved.” I hated when Satan was portrayed and found myself closing my eyes and clapping my hands over my ears. I don’t suppose I am supposed to care for The Enemy, though. While I could have done without that part, it’s impossible to tell the story of Jesus without it. So, again, the actor portrayed his part well. The lights, dancing, gymnastics, and music were all beautifully done. I would recommend this show to anyone.

Wonderful depiction of the greatest story of all time.

This was an amazing show with humor and so much emotion. I laughed, I cried and felt like I was really there. I will definitely see it again when it comes back to Grand Rapids! Excellent performers!

I was mesmerized the entire performance. The most dramatic was the crucifixon. The entire show was performed excellently. I would like to see it again.

I have studied dance and theater my whole life. I am now, and have been, for 40 years a Sr. Pastor, teacher, minister in dance and worship and lover of God. “The Thorn” was absolutely life-changing. The professional quality of production was beyond excellent. The actors, actresses, dancers and aerial artists were beyond belief incredible. Every area of this production was superb. Best of all, God’s hand was on it! I could hardly watch without crying or tearing up. It was incredible. There was a whole row of folks passing Kleenex around, I look forward to the next time you are in Detroit. I will bring folks to see it. The message, of course, is the same, but; creativity and excitement about the message cause this production to arise to a whole new level. Congratulations on a job well done!

Absolutely, beautiful. Jesus is the only way. The Thorn demonstrated an inspirational experience. I would see it again!

We attended THE THORN at Detroit's Fox Theater, joining 5,000 others. On October 20th 2024. Simply Spectacular! The performance evoked strong emotions, bringing many to tears. I highly recommend it. What a memory.

Enjoyed this experience. The actor narrating the show was amazing. Disappointed that no other actors spoke and the music was all prerecorded. Our tickets were expensive and was hoping for a little more as far as that went. Still worth seeing!

great choreographics, dancers, and "John"telling the story-AWESOME! Lighting, sounds all well done.

Everything about the event was awesome! From getting the tickets which was so simple from parking across from the theater, which was great although $35 is a little steep. But the theater was so phenomenal. It was beautiful. It was so mesmerizing. I just was in starstruck with Awe watching and looking around! The presentation and the whole program the whole play was so wonderful and heart reaching! It was so true to the Bible and the life of Christ! I loved every minute of it I mean that truly every minute of the whole evening was fabulous

The lights, music and theatrics were captivating but there is room for improvement in production. I could do without the humor of Johns story telling which was almost like making fun and light of something that shouldn’t be taken lightly. It did not feel right and at times very uncomfortable. I would suggest a change to the production and leave the humor out and spend more time on adding more details to the story of Jesus. The gospel can stand on its own. The compassion international story was great and but I would suggest having mutiple locations to stop after the show to sign up instead of handing out cards during the show.

I think they did an overall great job with the delivery of the gospel. Always some minor things to suggest based on preference and opinion however I did enjoy the show with my husband and family. The lights, music and delivery were captivating. I could do without the humor during certain parts of the story telling but my husband appreciated it. Personal preference.

This show was truly amazing! I didn’t know what to expect!!

The emotion displayed in not only the telling of the story, but through dance and portrayal of such a powerful story…I highly recommend even those who are not spiritual to go and experience this marvelous experience.
