My daughter and I loved the play and how it was presented the message of Salvation. Also the authority that God also has gave us over Satan. The scenery, visual effects, music, choreography, outfit/clothing, and the originality... All together catching the attention from the audience and reaching to our hearts; causing reactions from laughing, praising the Lord, and crying. I hope this message will continue and mostly reaching to those people that haven't recognized Jesus Christ as our Savior.
The show is fabulous! Very moving and spiritual. You could definitely feel Gods love. I recommend everyone needs to see it!
Loved the musical! However, due to my military heating loss injuries and my age of 60, I could not understand one word of the dialog at any point from beginning to end even with my hearing aids. I understand that Cobb Energy was offering hearing devices that would have perhaps improved my chances of hearing the musical and all dialog before and after. What I find that is pretty universal for concerts, musicals, etc., is that the venues or artists tends to turn the music up so loud and it drowns out the words, dialogs, etc. Also, at this event and feeling so blessed that I have no lost all of my hearing, I felt even more concern that the lovely sign language performers were positioned at such a vast distance from the stage performers, that those in need of this service surely had to choose between the two and also not experience this production as designed and that broke my heart.
This is a deeply moving and engaging performance, and the quality of acting and performance was excellent!
Was expecting more depth in the acting; narration was good but more acting out the story from the book of John would have been preferred. The vocal add for giving to a worthy cause was a little too much.
I truthfully had no idea what to expect and up until this month had never heard of The Thorn. The trailer and information available was accurate and I think it was well done. The acrobatics, costumes, choreography, acting was all top notch. The narrator which was supposed to be John was interesting and was using cultural references from 2025 which the crowd found amusing. So it isn't all serious 100% of the time. There were a few very bright white lights used during the performance that actually hit us directly in the eyes practically blinding me from seeing the stage. We were way up in the balcony section and I think it probably wasn't seen by the majority but I didn't care. I was able to see this at a price I could afford and the venue is very nice as well. A well spent evening for sure!
Didn't know much about this performance prior to attending but I am absolutely grateful to have experienced The Thorn. I was blessed beyond words! The actors, the scenes, 3D performances... I'll definitely attend again. Praying this production company creates plays on other Biblical Events.
OMG! This was an awesome show. me and my family loved it. We all shedded tears, the story teller john was great, and funny. everything was so great i would reccommend this show for all to see and experience it. thank you so much
I thought the performance was good. I was a little taken aback after the promo materials, mentioned "Cirquelike". While the acrobatic and dancers were beautiful, it wasn't "Cirquelike", however, I loved the way "John"told the story of Jesus' life. It was true to the Bible and I loved the Christ like portrayal! It made my Bible come alive! This would be a great way to share the gospel with those that don't yet believe. I think that should be in the advertisement, to bring your family and friends who don't yet believe. The costumes were beautiful and Biblelike. Thank you for the wonderful portrayal of Jesus life. I wish I had brought some of my family who I think question their faith.
While the technology, dramatization, costumes, acrobats, dancers, venue and all things involved were great, I felt the message was missed through the one person, John, speaking. I am a believer and I knew the Word but if you were not biblically knowledgeable, you could not have identified most of the portrayals. There was no connection except the crucifixion. It felt like Cirque de Sole (sp) I found this to be extremely entertaining with little connection of the spirit to the bible. I must say I was disappointed.
This production was so meaningful that I cried through the whole thing. What a unique way of telling the story of Jesus! And the actor who portrayed the apostle John was incredible! He was serious, and yet his occasional humor was delightful and made it feel very real. All the cast were exceptional. I especially enjoyed the lady swinging from the rope. Thank you for drawing us all closer to Jesus. And we join you in praising his holy name.
I had no idea what to expect but loved the performance, the performers, the music and of course the story. Great job!
The rendition of the life of Christ was beautifully displayed. One could feel the presence of God's love for us. The trial, the whipping brought me to tears. One could only imagine the passion, the love in Christ's eyes for us, in the comparison of the hatred in the eyes of mankind towards His innocence and compassion. This masterpiece envokes worship.
Outstanding!!!! A must see!!!! I highly recommend this show!!!
This production is exhilarating with special effects, music, acrobatics, drama and more. This is a MUST SEE!!! Incredible celebration of God’s Redemption Plan and Jesus.
This is definitely a one of a kind show. It's much less of a theatrical show and more of an acrobatics show than I anticipated, but they still do a wonderful job presenting the life of Jesus in a meaningful way. The only reason I'm taking a star off is because of the facility. Cobb Energy Centre has the worst parking situation that I've ever encountered at a major auditorium. It took more than an hour to get the half mile from the interstate into the parking deck. I will not be going back there.
The Thorn was good. The narrator was funny and did a good job getting audience participation. From the preview videos, I was expecting more dancing and acrobatics. What they did have was fabulous! I think it would have been great with a live orchestra or at least a live vocalist. All music was recorded. The story was amazing, of course!
This is a Must See play of epic proportions! You will leave in awe!
The level of excellence and entertainment of this show is outstanding! I love the point of view (narration), and how well the entire company tells the story. Excellent, quality acting and theatrics alongside a timeless story that needs always to be told!
