THE TEMPER TRAP IN CONCERT:

Indie darlings the Temper Trap quickly shot to fame in 2008 with their anthemic track "Sweet Disposition", and they haven't slowed down since. The Australian group plays bright, guitar-driven rock with a fervor and energy that always get the crowd pumped up during their live shows. Whether they're performing the track that launched their career or tearing through songs from their 2012 self-titled debut, the Temper Trap always has ticket buyers singing and clapping along on their must-see tours.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Hailing from Down Under, the Temper Trap formed in 2005 when the band members met while working at a Melbourne clothing store. The five-piece played cut their teeth playing local shows, and they quickly attracted attention from blogs and magazines with their electrifying performances. They released their first self-titled EP in 2006 but truly took off in 2008 with their platinum-selling debut Conditions, which featured the Top 20 hit "Sweet Disposition". They continued their mainstream success with their self-titled sophomore LP, which topped the charts in Australia and earned Best Rock Album at the 2012 ARIA Awards. Since then they've opened for major players like Coldplay and the Rolling Stones, appeared at world-renowned festivals like Coachella and Reading and Leeds, and sold out popular venues across the globe. With a strong collection of hits in their repertoire, the Temper Trap is a celebrated act that keeps fans coming out in droves to their exciting shows.

The Temper Trap puts on an amazing show!

by jxc071 on 10/14/12Roseland Ballroom - New York

This was my first time attending a concert for The Temper Trap...It was more than what I had expected! The opening act was great and it really got the crowd pumping adrenaline for the main act to come on. However, the only thing I will make a critique on was the half an hour of time that was spent preparing, checking, and RE-checking the wires and musical instruments. It was rather irritating for the opening act to play a few songs and then have the crowd left waiting there for a while. It would have been nice if half of what was needed to be prepared was done prior to when The Temper Trap got on stage to perform. Other than that, the entire show was absolutely incredible! I enjoyed the lighting/visual very much as it really set a great mood and atmosphere to the entire show. Can't wait for The Temper Trap to come back to NYC!!!

The Temper Trap was purely amazing

    by Mattman113093 on 8/6/12Madison Theater - Covington

First of all I loved the venue. Small enough crowd to make the show seem personal, but still fueled with the excitement of a larger crowd. The set list was fantastic. So glad they came back and encored with Soldier On and of course Sweet Disposition. Wild Belle was a pretty solid opening band as well. And the best part was tickets were only $20!

    Unforgettable performance.

    by Danibby09 on 8/3/12Madison Theater - Covington

I am highly impressed by the performance Temper Trap gave. At first I was slightly concerned that Dougy's voice wouldn't have as good a quality as it does the recorded version. I was happily surprised to find that his voice sounded just as good/almost better than it does on the record. The venue had great acoustics and lighting that really added to the show. I was intrigued the entire time and the setlist they played had every song I wanted to hear except one. They ended the show with Sweet Disposition which is their best and most popular song. Overall please with the experience and would highly recommend anyone to see Temper Trap while they're in America.

Temper Trap - Global in the making!

by MacOR on 6/24/12Terminal 5 - New York

Excellent gig despite a venue that wasn't best suited to the sound or expectation of Temper Trap fans. TT don't need much space to please, but Terminal 5 presented an awkward vacuum to fill. However, the sound was distinctive and not all lost despite the surrounding. Dougie's voice was spectacular as always although somewhat lost on sections of the audience. The set was superb, both albums all just about covered, what more can a fan ask for? All said, this was the highlight of my trip to New York.

The Temper Trap at Malkin Bowl 6/19/12

by robbieDigital on 6/22/12Malkin Bowl - Vancouver

We were visiting Vancouver for the first time. While taking a tour through Stanley Park, we saw where the concert would be held. After the tour we immediately purchased our tickets to the show. The venue is very cool. Right in the middle of the lush greenery of Stanley Park. The sound system was loud but nice and clear. It felt good to really feel the bass. There was plenty of space to move around or get further back if the speakers became too loud. There's even a grassy knoll further back where everyone had blankets that they were sitting on. I hadn't been a huge Temper Trap before going. But, they put on a great show and were much better live. I was a little surprised to find that they didn't sell alcohol at the Malkin Bowl. And there were a ton of security people watching the crowd for anyone who might have snuck anything in.

    Spectacular!

by marrymedougymandagi on 6/8/12Terminal 5 - New York

Besides the drunk 18-year old with the boyfriend who obviously wanted to get some action on the dance floor...this event was hands down perfect. I hope they play again in NYC. I love The Temper Trap.

    Beyond Amazing

by Anonymous on 6/8/12Terminal 5 - New York

After seeing The Temper Trap live I realized that recordings of them don't do them justice. They were wonderful performers and the show exceeded my expectations which were already quite high. This seriously is not something that you would want to miss. There are bands who don't sound as good live, but they actually sounded better, just amazing in every single way.

The Temper Trap is an incredible live band. Their music sounded even better in concert. The lighting during the show at Terminal 5 was awesome and added to an already amazing show. Highly recommend.

The sound system in Terminal 5 is subpar. Could not hear the vocals of the lead singers in all of the bands. To main event started way too late. I don't think I'll be going to anymore Terminal 5 events anymore. Also, the pretentiousness of VIP is ridiculous. There is plenty of room for people and they are all squished while one side of the second floor is practically empty. Really silly and so not worth the musical experience. Temper Trap should have played more first album songs.

    TT @ Terminal 5

by RockridgeC on 6/7/12Terminal 5 - New York

Spectacular example of why this venue is so well suited to Indie acts that might be lost in a stadium. The music was delivered with emotion and vibrance though the light show may have cause some fits! Their weaving of new material with old was really well done playing 2 new to every familiar song in the first portion of the set. Then playing 2 known for 1 new in the latter portion. Kept the crowd engaged through out!

It was a really great show. It was very exciting especially being so close. Dougie was awesome and the rest of the band was too. When they played their old stuff it was great, the new stuff was satisfactory.

Lack of presence on stage. They have great songs but no energy behind them.
